I'm there. Maybe some Priest energy will bleed over into the Deep Purple set this time.

Thanks for the heads up! I considered the $30 seats; but figured I belong with the rest of the livestock back in the grass.

The PRIEST has started playing their raging song TYRANT after almost 40 years of abstinence. Even though there is no KK and no Tipton, seeing Halford rip up this masterpiece should be well worth the cover.

Best song of the 1970s.

Haven't seen Judas Priest since I was 11 back in 1979. They were the opening band.

Saw them at the outdoor venue in Alpharetta a few years ago (maybe 2009?). Rob didn't have a great night, but I've seen clips where he's sounded better since then. The weirder thing is Priest minus both Downing and Tipton.

Will definitely be there... probably make it there just before Priest goes on though.

observations on the PRIEST

- Faulkner continues to impress me with how he fits in to the band. I already liked him from the last show and also the videos I've seen, but he really seems to have cemented himself in now. A worthy replacement for KK.
- Sneap has the dexterity, but Tipton's shoes are just too big for him to fill.
- Rob has still got it.
- MORE FUCKING SONGS. No "Victim?" No "Beyond the Realms?" No "Metal Gods?" Yes, I lost my shit when they busted out such songs as "Delivering the Goods," "Sinner," and "Freewheel Burning," but boy would I be happy if they cut out "Another Thing" and "Living" and played "Tyrant" instead. They played "Tyrant" in Charlotte.
- Corollary: not a one song from either Sad Wings or Stained Class? Really? Deep Purple, move over, Daddy Priest needs more set time.
- Caveat: I was really glad they played "Electric Eye" after not playing it last time. How can you not play "Electric Eye?"

That was a blast. My Dad had a best time with his Father's Day present.

I'm disappointed that he didn't play Tyrant like he did on some dates :( I would have love to hear more songs from Defenders of the Faith (Jawbreaker, Love Bites), Painkiller (Leather Rebel, Between the Hammer & The Anvil, One Shot At Glory) and Turbo (Out in the Cold, Hot For Love) . Speaking of which, hearing Turbo Lover live was phenomenal! Though I wished he would at least sing the chorus in full and then used the the second one for the audience to sing. Lastly, out of all the live songs where Desert Plains was being played fast, I guess he decided to slow down on that one.

And I agree, Melkor. Halford needs more stage time than DP.

Overall, it was an awesome show! I'll note for no bullet belts for Amplitheatres next time (but a-okay with spikey gear :V ).

last observation:

- Tom G. Warrior obviously listened to "Delivering the Goods" one too many times.
