I don’t know for sure — it might be the whiskey talking — but “Raining Blood” might be the best metal tune ever recorded.

on this day in history, 118 years ago...

the artist as a young man met nora barnacle and subsequently had his gherkin jerked by her in a ringsend alleyway. the end.

He was a randy fellow, for sure. But why are we talking about Joyce?

Day drinking.

If you don’t like At War with Satan, I’m pretty sure you’re not metalling right.

I’m 98% that Venom succeeded on Side A of AWwS where both Pink Floyd and The Who failed with The Wall and Tommy.

Just sayin’.

I stand before you, ready to confess sheer dumbassery.

I loved, loved, loved Show No Mercy.
Hell Awaits had it’s moments, but the reverb was too much.
I have since grown to love Reign In Blood, but it was too much for me when it was released.
South of Heaven blew me away. It was my favorite for years.
I gave Seasons a listen when it was released and was all meh. It was a disappointment. I’ve never given it much of a chance.

That was a mistake.

Having said all that, Ghosts of War still kicks ass.
