Hard to explain...really ambient with no vocals (most of the time). If you wanna hear some examples, listen to sleepmakeswaves, God is An Astronaut, If These Trees Could Talk, and This Will Destroy You.Metalfreak wrote:what the hell is post-rock?GameFreac wrote: sgt. (awesome japanese post-rock)
"after" rock? or some indie rock stuff? I never got the whole "post" thing...
It's quickly becoming my 2nd favorite genre next to metal.

Mono, Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Sigur Ros all leap immediately to mind.GameFreac wrote:Hard to explain...really ambient with no vocals (most of the time). I listened to some of this...not bad. I like stuff with no vocals. I suppose you could throw in Burzum's later stuff into this category as well...Knucklehead wrote:Mono, Mogwai, Godspeed You! They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???
Post-rock needs to cry itself do death in the corner.
New Marduk sounds more like Funeral Mist than the new Funeral Mist. Mortuus/Arioch/D. Rosten/Whatthefuckever has transformed a boring, predictable blast-beat reliant band into a multi-faceted, intriguing killing machine.

That God is an Astronaught band is pretty cool though.
@Barry - for the most part, that's how I am when it comes to music. Most of the shit I listen to is metal but there's some shit I listen to that would make you wonder like Yelle & Coolio lol ...if it's good though, I'll listen. Doesn't mean I have their whole discographies, same goes for metal bands...just because it's metal don't mean it's all good
