Humorous and very apt description. Was hoping for at least a hint of a Si Monumentum/Kénôse-ish revisit this time around. Ça ne fait rien, or something like that.stewvee wrote:Or Confusion is Sex w/ a coked up Frost on drums. Very Hip and Appealing Black Metal from these unknown French folks.MS_39455 wrote: Deathspell Omega - Paracletus (so much hype for Fas part II)
That makes two of us. I love SMRC, but Kenose is becoming my favorite full-length of theirs.MS_39455 wrote:Humorous and very apt description. Nothing is hitting the spot.
I tried that Tame Impala everyone is so jazzed about (not on here, but othe people) and it's just a real background kinda vibe for me. Not feeling the first Stone Roses album vibe that I've been hearing about.
Then it was King Diamond's Them. I've never really dug this album, but try it again year after year. It's just way too produced for me. I don't know why the drums are in front of the guitars or why the King's vocals are soaked in chorus, reverb and other shit that makes them painfully trebly. I'll take early Mercyful Fate any day. Sucks. I'd love to have more KD to dig on.
Last night driving home for two fucking hours I played all kinds of shit. Not even Immortal was happening. I guess it was too bleak, yet not snow covered enough out for the moods to match.
I think I need some Dandy Warhols and Darkthrone to hit the reset on my listening taste.

came out in '08 i believe. i haven't listened to their debut but i'm rather intrigued as they're labeled stoner metal with lots of sabbath influence and i wouldn't expect that moniker from the vibe on paralyzed. way more of a weirdo punk vibe with undertones of dino jr. etc and hints of closeted metal love. i dig it but i've gotta be in the right mood... like stuck in traffic last night and going fucking nowhere.stewvee wrote:This is a weird follow-up. I like Them! I love the first three: Fatal Portrait, Abigail, and Them. Abigail is classic.badcarburetor wrote: Then it was King Diamond's Them. Yeah, extremely punked out like Blue Cheer playing The Stooges' Search & Destroy at three xs the speed... I love the debut, though.Ryan wrote:came out in '08 i believe. i haven't listened to their debut but i'm rather intrigued as they're labeled stoner metal with lots of sabbath influence and i wouldn't expect that moniker from the vibe on paralyzed. way more of a weirdo punk vibe with undertones of dino jr. etc and hints of closeted metal love. i dig it but i've gotta be in the right mood... like stuck in traffic last night and going fucking nowhere.stewvee wrote:This is a weird follow-up.
