Quoting just so I don't have to retype that junk.

A couple of these sound like literal repeats of other Horna songs, but I guess that can happen after 57 albums. At any rate, I really like the new guy. HOORAY!

Rotting Christ - the new one, Greek words, I don't know. Whatever the case, as usual with RC, there are like 3 amazing songs, 3 passable songs that may or may not be growers, and the rest can be filed as forgettable. But the three that are amazing are really really amazing, one of which is a reworking of a Romanian folk song about water sprites.*

Enforsaken - The Forever Endeavor. Pardon my senility if I've said this before, but no matter how bored you may have gotten over the years with that melodic Gothenburg style, you could easily replace about 30% of your albums in that vein with this thing; it's just one ridiculous riff after another for ten solid songs, it's American so it's aggressive in a way that neither In Flames nor Dark Tranquillity ever managed, and the vocalist actually knows how to put syllables to music in a memorable way, a lost art in metal. Their followup album blew, however.

Horna/Behexen split. For all the love Horna gets on these forums, I hope everyone is well acquainted with this, as a) these are four of Horna's best songs, no small feat, and b) the songs by Behexen, a band I've never been crazy about, are ten times better.

Taake - Bjoergvin. Is it just me or is this band overrated? This is the 3rd album of theirs I've bought, and my "holy shit" moment has not arrived. I believe thus shall close Mr. Dangledong's window of opportunity to woo me.

Still the new Darkthrone and Suffocation, obviously. Monstrous, both of them.

Fates Warning - The Spectre Within. Gods! (for 3 albums)

*correction: The awesome song is indeed the Romanian folk song, but it is not about water sprites. The water sprite track, "Rusalka," is also quite good but thanks to at least a couple melodic and percussive idées fixes that run through this album, despite the variegated ethno-musicological bent, stuff is blurring together. There's a song about voodoo, one about ancient Mayans, a "Gilgamesh," and an "Ahura Mazda." This thing is like "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" for death cult creation myths.

I love it. It's killer straight up early Bathory worship done completely unapologetically. But, I love pretty much anthing Joel Grind touches, so maybe I'm a bit biased.

I listen to music pretty much all day everyday. When I drive (a lot), at my desk at work, when cooking, folding laundry, hanging out with friends, at the gym, while falling asleep, etc...throw in the occasional band/personal road trips and that's a lot of listening time!

I post these lists about every six weeks so it probably looks like a lot more than it is. I make my lists from Last.fm scrobbles and what I remember spinning on vinyl. I leave out all the single track listens and party mixes and all that shit and only post album listens.

One thing that I forgot to post is that I've been spinning the hell out of The Shrine's Primitive Blast LP. That junk is so fucking good!!

The Oily Menace - http://theoilymenace.bandcamp.com
Blown out grinding fury

Sacred Steel - The Bloodshed Summoning - http://cruzdelsurmusic.bandcamp.com/alb ... ummoning-2
Heavy/power metal with some solid riffs/songwriting but the vocals absolutely ruin it. OH WELL.

Hellgoat - duh

Hell - III - http://loweryourhead.bandcamp.com/album/hell-iii
Rad funeral doom with forays into black metal or whatever. I usually don't dig the ultra slow jams but the songwriting on here is really good.

Big Eyes - demo ep - http://bigeyes.bandcamp.com/album/demo-7
I don't know what to call this... power pop I guess? I dunno but it's catchy as hell, good female vocals too.

Grinchfinger - In Tune With Grind CS - http://grinchfinger.bandcamp.com/album/ ... with-grind
Grinding in the old style, radness. I have a few of these in the distro if anyone wants to trade or pick one up.

These are all great! I've been listening to The Idiot nonstop for the last month or two. Lust for life is pretty good too. Don't really like Darkthrone too much but I love the new direction on this one. "leave no cross unturned" alone is better than most thrash I've heard. I thought the new hatebreed was mediocre

Do you hear anything nu-metal sounding on it? That's what some folks said that line-up sounded like live at the Archive Gallery.
glad I'm not the only one who thought that!

Psychedelic stonery stuff with harsh and clean vocals... not sure how I feel about this one yet

Old Wainds - http://dmp666.bandcamp.com/album/death-nord-kult
This rules really hard.

Sorcery - http://tothedeathrecords.bandcamp.com/a ... lood-12-lp
This also rules really hard.
