Naked City - Black Box
For years I blew this off as noise for noise's sake, but after listening to it for the first time and with low expectations, I gotta say there's something hypnotic and ... weirdly coherent about it. I'm sure the neighbors think I'm chopping up bodies to this, however.

Bauhaus - In the Flat Field
Rosetta Stone - Foundation Stones
Tones on Tail - Night Music
Christian Death - Atrocities, Sexy Death God
Gothic Rock 1 & 2 compilations
Gothy goodness.

Godflesh - Streetcleaner, Slavestate
Dead Horse - Peaceful Death and Pretty Flowers
Uncategorizable goodness.

You're just missing some March Violets in that playlist.

Me neither. She sent that to my phone and I said "I give up. Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver?"

As a matter of fact, they and the Virgin Prunes are on their way from Amazon as we speak. Having a personal goth revival here.

I have to know what the photographer's directions were during this shoot. And speaking of things being shouted in German, if there's a word in that language for a combination of vicarious embarrassment and transcendent awe, I'm currently experiencing every guttural syllable of it.

On yet another German note, just learned that Lunar Aurora's Aran has a new thing with Esoteric's Greg Chandler. Goodness me.

Excellent. That old goth shit is top shelf. If you haven't checked them out yet, you gotta try Night Sins and Horror Vacui, both are on AVANT! Records. It's really good, new, guitar driven, throwback goth rock - with an emphasis on the rock.

"Schadenfreude" is close, but not exact.

Slayer -- Divine Intervention, on SV's recommendation that I actually give it a serious listen. I remember it being more chugga-chugga than it actually is. I had stopped paying attention by the time they released it, but I'm going to have to give it another listen.
Sacramentum -- Far Away From the Sun.

I'm apparently a fucking idiot because I've ignored KAT for the overwhelming majority of my time listening to metal.

Kat - 666, Metal & Hell
Bulldozer - IX
Windir - 1184
Integrity - To Die For, Seasons..., Humanity...
Heresi - Psalm II
Excoriate - On Pestilent Winds
