a guy got beat to death at the Korn show here

Post by Greg » Tue August 1st, 2006, 12:22 pm

This article is rife with comedy but at the same time it's kinda sad what happened to this guy. While I'd make the argument this guy was brain-dead before the Korn show for actually paying money to see them and being a Korn fan at the age of 30, it sucks that this happened because some knuckledragging meathead frat boys decided to beat this guy up because he asked them to stop moshing.

Luckily this didn't happen at a metal show though, so maybe it won't be so bad for us after all as far as more negative media for the metal scene.

Man, that sucks ass. You see what Korn does to people! If this guy dies I should make a shirt that says: Nu-metal kills!

I like how when the guy's friend re-enacts moshing, the reporter jumps back like he's going to shove him

"Gloria is still trying to comprehend how her 30-year-old son, Andy, ended up brain-dead after he was attacked during a concert by the group, Korn, at the Hi-Fi Buys Amphitheater. She also can’t understand how the attackers got away."
Yeah, it says right there that he was attacked by Korn. How DID they get away?

Haha, that's the first time I've watched the video.

You gotta love local news... they re-iterate twice that a "teenager" was attacked at a local show, then seconds later they reveal him as "30 year old Andy so-and-so".

yeah I don't know about that. We don't consider Korn metal but everybody else does. I was going off about it at work today because it probably will give us a bad name. Assholes like that need to be shot in the back of the head and I would be glad to do it.
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

Anyone who still considers them metal is as brain dead as the stiff this article is about.

That includes the media.

I agree! but most people don't know anything about the genre. whenever I say I like black metal to someone who doesn't have much knowledge of metal, the person is usually like "black metal? I didn't know they liked that kind of music." then I have to explain it's not black people I'm talking about...

"Black Metal!? You mean Fishbone?"

The most surprising thing about all of this, is not that the dude got murdered at a Korn show, but that there are enough people to actually support Korn playing a show in the first place. That shit just blows my mind!

i'm worried that greg and i are responsible for this unfortunate turn of events due to our sparkling endorsement of this show on WREKAGE!
