Native American Metal?

Post by Mortis_Kull » Wed November 10th, 2010, 5:52 pm

Are there any bands that bares it's image, music, and lyrics about native american culture? I remember seeing one, but I forgot the name.

We have like viking metal and pirate metal. But are there any bands that are "Pow-Wow Metal"?

Funny my friend hates Impaled because read an interview that talked about how Impaled didn't like folk metal. One of their arguments was talking about how people dressing up like our ancestors and how there is no Native Americans making metal bands.

Impaled must have never heard Testament's Trail of Tears.

I believe that Volahn has some themes that have to do with Native American culture. Check out the blurb for their new album: Two tribes gather as native storms of indigenous resistance with four violent omens.

Also, LOL about that Impaled comment. Makes me love them more.

I thought so too. If a band has good music I will listen to them, regardless of their views. Their views just change how I feel about what they have to say as individuals.

Imagine if people listen to Deicide to feel enlightened about Christianity.

Resistant Culture, Ayaihuaira, Kay Pacha, Mictlantecuhtli, Yana Raymi, Ch'aska, Ixtaukayotl, Trono de Huesos.

All metal that comes to mind right now, if you want a list of native-american punk bands I can point you in the right direction.
