I didn't make it through 200M. Love the music tho.

Is Martyrs more torture porn, or is it real horror? Anyone seen Pontypool?

My idea of gore and the new idea of gore do not date each other.

Yeah, if we have to pick a category, I guess it would be torture porn. It's not straight horror, but it's not ridiculous like Saw either. It's more of a slow burn.

I hate for it to sound like "If you liked SAW, YOU'LL LOOOOVEE MARTYRS! This ain't your mama's torture porn!!" *electric guitar* Because it's better than that.

Along that vein, I was recently convinced to watch Hostel again. It totally bored me the first time, but the second time I liked it a lot more. It's pretty funny. So I went ahead and watched the second one, which was also good. Then I watched the third one, which sucked. The End.

I can't get with that stuff. And that Wolf Creek flick... sheesh. No thanks. At least it had gorgeous photography. But it was not fun.

See, I think Wolf Creek was boooooo-ring. But everyone cites it as some kind of landmark achievement in cinema. Whatever, all I remember is looking at the clock a lot.

Also, if anyone is planning to go to the Days of the Dead, today is apparently the last day before the price goes up. I don't know what it's going up to because the website is not terribly informative. We're just going one day, but a friend of mine is holding it down Dragon*Con style with a weekend pass and hotel room. Hopefully he won't have burned the place down by Sunday.

A lot of the shots of nature were beautiful. Juxtaposed too well with the content. But yeah, it was boring! And just pure nihilism.

THIS TOO.

The only reason we've kept our is for kids shows/movies for the kiddo and tv shows. Their streaming movie selection is garbage... though they do have some good horror flix on occassion.

HAHA! Man, you're approaching it all wrong. There's some REAL terrible shit in there! Embrace it!

Some personal faves: (which I cannot give the Netflix links for because they have blocked it at work)

Vampire Journals
Dreamaniac
Dungeonmaster AKA Ragewar
Kiss of the Vampire AKA Immortally Yours

And the absolute bottom of the steaming shit pile:
Birdemic: Shock and Terror

Seriously, and I'm not exaggerating here, if there is a movie worse than Birdemic I have not seen it. And let me assure you, I have seen some real terrible shit.

I love you, Netflix.

I'm thinking of axing mine. My kid just wants to watch the same stuff over and over and over again. And I just end up watching my own VHS movies instead of the Netflix shit sitting there on the counter from three wks ago.

Have you seen Monsturd?

...and yeah stew, we considered axing ours but just dropped to streaming only. It's worth it to have an endless supply of cartoons but I wouldn't pay for the DVD service.

No but I've heard of Retardead. Just added Monsturd to the queue. However, it looks like it's intentionally funny and stupid. There is nothing at all intentionally funny or stupid about Birdemic. Watch it with a trusted friend or you may be tempted to hang yourself before it's over.

Birdemic makes "Manos: the Hands of Fate" look like "Gone with the Wind."
