Looking forward to Tomb Mold, but even though I've listened to Horrendous quite a bit, I can't remember one thing about any of their songs. Not one riff, vocal melody, nada.

Cool show, although I hate Boggs' set up. Horrendous are a much better live band than I expected. I still can't recall a single riff or vocal line though. Tsuris were pretty damned good, not just "good for a local band." Would see again. Tomb Mold definitely wins the dweebiest death metal band award, but very tight. Wish they would have thrown in a tune from the debut.

horrendous was extremely good.

I've avoided watching toon mold several times due to the genereal nerdotry. opening the set with the nfl on fox theme caused me to fuck off for a while but I watched the last 20 minutes or so of their set. there was a surprising amount of stuff in their music which engaged me.

while that was going on there was this guy who was clearly out of place, probably had lived around there his whole life, and started livestreaming the event from his phone. luckily he was standing right in from of me. I caught a couple of the messages he was posting as this was going on...
"I was walking in the westend when I saw this place was packed"
"I decided to check it out and this is what I see..." (of course at this point toon mold was doing their thing and a throng of youths were "skanking" in front of the stage, and this guy was streaming it all)
"I will not stay for long" (he stayed for about 20 minutes)
...
"this is different from our culture"
(end of transmission)
seven bands seven churches seven sages five magics / up the hammers to stay

I came out of show retirement for this. Last show I went to was Mercyful fate in 2022. I liked Bogg's, unusual set up but it was cool. Rode down with Jager Wolf and we got there an hour before doors. I ordered a trout sandwich and apparently I fuckin hate trout. Should have gotten the brisket. It was prepared extremely well despite my poor choice though.
Tsuris was cool as shit. Three guitarists, music was sorta black metal with some Dbeats and classic Burzum beats. Singer was a god damn wild man, looked like Philthy Animal back in the 80's. Long curly hair, Sanchez 'stache, bullet belt, cowboy boots. Anyone got a contact for them? email? I can't seem to find a FB page for them.
Horrendous ruled! I remember them playing blood of the wolf when they were local. Never really got into their early stuff. I even saw them with Kreator and forgot about it. Then their singer / guitarist Damian started mastering our music right around the time their third record Idol came out and I fell in love with it. Rode around with the CD in my truck for years. Their new record Ontological Mysterium is god damn amazing, if you like later death. They sounded exactly like the new record and played the entire thing at the show, no old stuff. We finally got to shake Damians hand and get a picture after working with him and talking to him via email for years. Great night.
Tomb Mold fuckin' sucks fuck that band.

I had wanted to come out for this one, but didn't make it, particularly to meet Damien. Boris has used his services for years and would have been nice to meet face-to-face. Next time, hopefullly.
