I saw it at Midtown Arts Theater when they had it.
& then I rented it when the unrated version came out on DVD.
I can't get enough of that film.

I've heard that argument too many times. The end just makes it even more awesome.

The movie is undoubtably a tense one. Psychologically, there's nothing. It was pretty lame, I thought Identity was alot better, it made alot more sense. Reguardless its the same sequence of events we have all seen a thousand times by now, this one was just rehashed by the french.

i'd have to say that high tension was pretty successful at being very "TENSE". i overlook the gay ending b/c the movie was really intense and also very bloody. i'm not going to say that its the best movie ever but as far as fun and entertainment goes i think it was very good.

and com'on.......the saw through the windshield spraying all the blood was awesome, you have to admit that. not to mention how bad your leg actually hurts watching that chick pull the glass out of her leg. OUCH!

So the whole repressed, gay sexuality thing isn't psychological?
This movie took Psycho's basic premise, changed certain things, and made it possible for people to become tense, shocked, and scared again. Most horror movies are boring or just show gore. Gore is fine but I appreciate when a movie can crack my jaded shell.

Is that the movie where John Cusack and those people all have the same birthday? If so i avoided it because it looked so dumb.

Perhaps, but they did it better than anyone else.
Originality doesn't have to be new ideas; the implementation is what matters in this movie.
Example:
Friday the 13th 1-4: Kids go in the woods, stay in cabin, fool around, and get killed by Jason.
Evil Dead: Same, except for tree raping, Bruce Campbell, and other minor differences.
Evil Dead 2: Same plot as the first, yet totally different movie. Why? The way it was made. Sam Raimi decided to purposely make it comical.

Man this movie must be really good, I actually turned it off after the masturbation seen. That was enough to make me a fan but ill have to go rent it again.
Just kidding.
The effects were really good I read it was really low budget but I couldnt tell.

DO NOT READ BELOW IF WANT TO SEE IDENTITY!!!

Identity did kick ass the seen at the end where the killer is shown as John Cusack in the room with the lawyers and judges just suprised the hell out of me, that was the best way to make an audience understand his condition.

Alright everybody.
It's easy to get some of you worked up!!!
I have never seen the movie, I just read mixed reviews and came on the forum to talk some trash, I was bored. I LOVE horror movies so this is on my list (after I see SAW 2). I have had a friend recomend this to me, he said the only thing he didn't like was the lesbian overtones in the movie.
