I just finished reading it. It is quite original indeed. I don't think it's entirely a reinterpretation of Genesis, but I do think that piece is very interesting and insightful. I'll have to re-read the last few pages again to absorb the "what now?" part a little better.post wrote:The greatest book Ive read is Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for something unbelievably original and smart. Its an alternate interpretation of the book of Genesis and makes a convincing argument in a cool story. I hope someone will read it and can tell me what they think.

Thats awesome, its a real good book there is a sequel to it called The Story of B. Its not really a sequel but its just as interesting I enjoyed just as much as Ishmael. Its about a human pupil of Ishmael presenting Ismael's ideas in europe and how he is persecuted like the antichrist. I havent read anything latley I have some pretty outstanding library fees but im glad someone else read it people look at me like im retarded when I try to explain the book.
