UFC 56
Anyone on this forum plan on watching the fight this weekend? Its going to be a good one. Any predictions for the Nate Quarry and Rich Franklin fight?

franklin owns nate!
you can't compare the diaz/sanchez fight to this one b/c diaz is no world champion. think about deigo fighting matt hughes this early on. hughes would murder him early in the first round. i like nate but he is not good enough yet to face off against a world champ.
truth is that the UFC is struggling for world class talent at the moment. the only strong division that they have is the welterweight division(hughes, parisan, st. pierre, trigg, sanchez, stevenson) and thats only b/c pride doesn't have that weight class(besides bushido, which isn't the money machine that pride is). this struggle has them making bad match-ups with the only fighters that people know. Rich Franklin against David "the crow" Louisou(sp?) would have been a much better match-up and Nate Quarry should be fighting Evan Tanner. Hughes/Parisan would've been great, but Hughes/Riggs is a mauling. Hughes in the first round.
all that to say.....yes i will be watching the fight this weekend.
but lets all be clear on one thing............PRIDE OWNS UFC!

its nice to get another opinion, nate might get his ass handed to him, but if they brawl. its gonna be a good fight. pride is kick ass too, but much less accessible. if they started putting shit on tv and advertising fights, its would do even better. (and the octagon is a nice gimmick too.)
hope you all fucking rot

well, pride is much much larger than the UFC, just not in america. in MMA circles it has much more respect as well. i personally like both, but the UFC has been getting kinda lame the past few years. the pay-per-views are getting real hit or miss and they are running out of fighters. pride can have a few lame match-ups in all their events but they still have a large pool of fighters to choose from and they usually have at least 3 kick-ass non-forgetable fights a card......most of all Pride has the Brazilians and the huge feud that brings as well.(b/w chute boxe and BTT)
HUGE NIGHT FOR UFC!!!!!!
the fight card was pretty entertaining but more so than that the UFC made some major moves in the right direction tonight. the resigning of shamrock, ortiz, mir and bj penn is very exciting!
those bastards have got me hooked for another season on TUF by having ortiz and shamrock be the coaches. those guys hate each other so much.
with penn back in the UFC the welterweight division is looking crazy. so many awesome fighters and so many match-ups to come.

Yeah this should be a good season for TUF. I mean you have two team coaches that absolutely hate each other, I can't wait. Doesn't shamrock kind look like a mean Sean Pen haha? Well anyways Nate Quarry got his clock cleaned by old Rich Franklin and he also got knocked the fuck out holly shit. I will be looking forward to Feb UFC 57 woo hooo can't fucking wait.

i thought that would have been a little bit better of a fight, but a broooootal knock out takes a good second place. poor little bitch is gonna regret taking that title fight. and riggs tapping out? what a pussy. all that shit he was talking. tuf 3 is gonna be great. who gives a shit about the fighters, the coaches are gonna be brawling.
hope you all fucking rot

you've obviously never been locked into a kimura before. i'm surprised that he held out so long, hughes was about 3 seconds from permanantly damaging riggs' shoulder. but with that being said, you're right riggs is a bitch......but not for tapping out.....just b/c he always talks a ton of shit and always loses when he fights someone worth fighting.
