Yeah Powermetal is awesome, Ive just recently really got into it this year when I was given all these burnt dics of bands like Hammerfall, Control Denied and many more. I think after listening to so much metal that is driven by technical guitar and drumming, listening to really good songs that are vocal driven is so easy to get into. When I listen to old metallica now the vocals give me goosebumps.

I'm not sure I'd classify Control Denied as power metal. Still awesome, though. I should pull that one out at WREKage; it's been a while.post wrote:Yeah Powermetal is awesome, Ive just recently really got into it this year when I was given all these burnt dics of bands like Hammerfall, Control Denied and many more.

Potentially good news, since most of the world's 'biggest' power-metal bands come from outside the U.S. (and typically Germany

The lineup for ProgPower USA VII won't be announced until February, in stages, but we have been officially informed that none of the bands is from the US, seven of them will be making their US debut performances, and only two of them are returning from ProgPowers past -- and not from this past ProgPower or from 2004.
Ahh, how the wheels do spin.

I'd call Control Denied powermetal, mostly because of the vocals. The music is better than average powermetal/deathmetal in my opinion.WREKage-Paul wrote:I'm not sure I'd classify Control Denied as power metal. Still awesome, though. Controld denied is Awesome!! Anything Chuck touched is golden.
Primal Fear-seven seals
NILE-aotwicked, track 7 ( lash with slavestick?) blows my mind how they manage to write music so complex and so full of every instrument and then you hear the VOCALS!! and there so good you would think they wrote the song around the vocals.
