R.I.P. Chuck.
I was in Thailand when I heard the news. I was in an internet cafe and got an email from a friend of mine that Chuck had passed away.
I think I've only heard Origin cover Flattening of Emotions afterwards, and maybe one other band, but I can't remember who.

Commit Suicide did a cover of Open Casket that I've played on the show before, but you're right, there aren't many Death covers out there.
I don't think anyone wants to disgrace the Death legacy if they don't have the chops to pull a cover off. I'd imagine it's a little more difficult to cover a Death song than most other bands.

Death is one of those bands that covers are meaningless for, because they can never capture that same feeling. Same with Burzum.

Necrophagist covered "Crystal Mountain" live
I think there was a Death tribute CD in the works..not sure if it ever came out. I heard the cover of "The Philosopher" that Leukorrhea did..I believe for that tribute.
Incantation's "Scream Bloody Gore" cover is pretty good, but this was done before Chuck's death.

my favorite death cover is probably commit suicide doing "open casket"
but the incantation one is pretty good too.
