look into the rock history. I understand that you might WANT to believe the RUMORS but it is not the truth when the band was formed by Angus and his brother. They might have heard the rumors and went along with it like Ozzy or Alice Cooper. Alot of rumors were started by the christian comunities trying to keep children away from all the "BAD" music and it just kept going from there. It doesn't really matter they still rock!

I don't really believe that that's what AC/DC stands for..but that's way cooler than some sewing machine bullshit. Considering all the songtitles and shit they did with H-E double hockeysticks in the title, it fits. Christian communities are the best thing to happen to rock and roll ever.

I wonder what that album would sound like now, if it were re-recorded properly? I mean, if Dimmu can do it with Stormblast and Nevermore can do it with Enemies Of Reality.....
I think if Metallica tried to re-record it, it would sound horrible.
i'm with you dan. so what if it sounds a little different. it actually gives the album identity. you never hear .....and justice for all and NOT know what it is.

not to be too picky, but metallica is quite certianly THRASH! and pretty aggressive during the 80's. i know what your saying though.......just can't let metallica not be considered thrash.

but my point is that "aggressive" changes over time. Back in the 70s and early 80s bands like AC/DC and Van Halen were considered aggressive and rebelious. They were labeled as "Heavy Metal" - I can testify to this since I was there. There was no Metallica, no Anal Cunt or Amoebic Dysentery there was The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Billy Joel & The J Geils Band. I don't care what AC/DC really means but the point was that a lot of people jumped on them about it - they were "out there" or "aggressive". btw, if no satanic influence then what's with the horns on the head in the pic I previously posted? maybe influenced by the goats at the petting zoo? they may not have started that way but they eventually took advantage of the publicity around it. My point was to prove that they were considered "extreme" by the mainstream at the time since they drew that kind of reaction.Matt wrote:hence why ac/dc wasnt on the list, they are rock n roll not heavy metal. just like van halen, etc.
Metal is one of those self deprecating genres. It's built on being aggressive and underground. So each new band is more aggressive then the previous - eventually the older become mainstream. Similarly with the underground aspect - metal bands are cool until they become widely popular. One day you'll hear today's extreme br00t4l metal bands in mainstream culture - and some punk ass little metal kid will be calling it pussy rock music.

They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???
and on top of that id say the only metallica album that was pure thrash was kill em all anyways, all the others had WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much slow shit to be considered thrash when compared to all the other thrash bands at the time. (in example - slayer, dark angel, coroner, sepultura (they were a little death metalish, but still thrashy)
