Care to expound on this, or are you just serving everyone generalization gyros this afternoon?

He said by The Drunken Unicorn.
I'd like to know how that stretch of Ponce ISN'T a bad neighborhood.
I'm pretty sure the high crackhead to resident ratio is more than enough of a good reason to back up what I said.

Are you talking about The WESTIN, like the hotel, or WEST END, as in two stops south of Five Points.

I know what West End is like; it was where my old doctor was, and that shit sucked.
However, I was not being accosted by a crackhead every five minutes in west End as I am every time I go to the part of Ponce that Neil is talking about.

Atlanta is great. Where else will homeless redneck gaymen ask to tell you awful jokes, then ask you for change

I mean, I'm not trying to rag on him.
I know he still lives in the subburbs and shit and might not know what the good neighborhoods and all, but yeah, near The Drunken Unicorn is not one of them.
Hah.

I'd argue that there is about a two-block stretch to avoid on all of Ponce (unless you're hopelessly paranoid), that being the area roughly between Monroe and Glen Iris, and specifically, the parking lot of the Phoenix.

You have a handful of crackheads that don't really bother anyone, a police station on the same corner, college kids, elderlies, a million yuppies, 16 Caribous and a fuckin' Whole Foods with six Smoothie Kings attached, with one in the women's room.

Look at the property values of some of places 2, 3, and 4 blocks off of Ponce, note the upkeep involved in some of those places, note the Hummer/Beamers in the driveway. And that's just the rich asshole population!

TheKhryataistisa, there are a ton of places in the area to rent, many very affordable. I've lived 4 blocks off of Ponce for almost three years and have never felt unsafe. Then again, I'm not a huge pussycake.

Ill be going to Decatur a lot so thats just the general area. I saw a lot of really nice houses there last night and I saw a lot of families. Thanks Holiday, that link had a few things I might look into, im not moving for a few months so ill keep it in mind.

Why not just move to Decatur then?

I'll be doing that in a month or so, I'll be moving into an apartment further down Ponce just past North Decatur road. It's minutes away from all the bars in Decatur and you're still only 10-15 mins away from the area you're talking about moving into, and the only crackheads you have to worry about are the ones that are your friends.
