Holy shit this band is awesome! We just got their new CD and it's probably one of the best things I've heard in a while. It's death metal and I can definitely hear some Morbid Angel influence but it doesn't hurt the band's sound. hmmm...I think I'm gonna write a review on this band...
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

"Unhealthy Opera" kicks ass. Get "Occult Medicine" too. Good stuff indeed.

Yep yep.... We've been playing songs from Occult Medicine fairly often on WREKage, but I didn't know they had a new one out. Excellent!

They're probably the most talented band ever to be based on Michael Moorcock's novels, although most of his fans would recoil in horror at the intensity of Yyrkoon's stuff...as compared to, say, Hawkwind or Blue Oyster Cult. :)

I thought they were from France?

I think you have them confused with Aborted.

yeah the new one is great! I think I'll grab Occult Medicine tomorrow when I'm at the studio so I can listen to it.

Blue Oyster Cult's stuff is based off of novels? I didn't know that!

A bit off topic but alot of Bolt Thrower's stuff is based off of the game Warhammer. I think that game has similarities to Dungeons and Dragons but I never have played it so I can't be sure.

Well, some of it is. The songs "Black Blade," "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" and "The Great Sun Jester" were written by Mike Moorcock and based on his books. Sadly, they don't do any of these in concert anymore....not that I haven't begged for the first two more than once. :( (Eric Bloom from BOC is a pretty good friend of mine from the old days.)
