wow, mastodon craps on metallica!

wow, mastodon really sucked up a cover of ORION. someone just called me and told me that it sucked and to check it out and i was blown away at how much i didn't like it. mastodon usually plays great covers and they are such big metallica fans i figured that they would do a good version but i must say i'm really unimpressed.

it could possibly be that i'm just such a metallica fan that nothing would please me but i'm thinking its just a bad version. it has some good spots but overall a weak performance.

i know that orion is an instrumental, track 7 on master, im saying i like mastodon better because they only have to play the music and not fuck with the vocals like on the blackened cover

yeah, i wasn't questioning that anyone knew it was an instrumental or not. i was just making the statement and actually responding to holiday rambler's post. i'm sure he knows its an instrumental too.

yeah, it sounds pretty good to me.
not too much variation, but then again just playing it as it was written is pretty damn good.

they just miss quite a few notes, hit some bad notes, and play some of the parts fairly sloppy.
