i told you so! leben was totally destroyed lastnight. i knew it as soon as the announced the match-up. the UFC is very sneaky and they played Chris Leben like a friggin flute. they fed him a bunch of crap about how he was going to be the next middleweight champ in the UFC but he needed one more win against a good opponent to get his shot. then they put him against the actual next middleweight champ, anderson silva. on top of that they don't hype silva at all. they just put him up against a very popular fighter that talks a lot of trash and let leben's popularity blast anderson silva into the american mma scene.

mark my words.........anderson silva will have one more fight when he beats a top level opponent and then he is going to have a fight with franklin for the belt and he'll knock franklin out as well and will be the next UFC middleweight champ. it'll up the reputation in the UFC to have a top brazilian in the ranks and it will draw more top level guys from around the world. and then the top level guys at 185, 205 and heavyweight will come in and totally destroy the UFC's current roster at those weights.

UFC has, no doubt, the best 170 division, but PRIDE's roster is much stronger everywhere else. MUCH stronger.

bring on JULY 8th!

i wonder if the barnacles here in kennesaw is going to have the fight. $5 isn't bad but i guess the $4 bud lights are what would get me.

Heres the sports bar listings,Barnacles usually shows up one or two days before fight night.http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=EventDe ... rs&eid=195
Id have to go with AA especially if it goes beyond rnd1,and probrably Tito although like you I have a feeling Shammy could pull it off which I would love to see.
Hey Blaze, U know anyone thats getting the PFC absolute,I really want to catch that.

i don't know who is going to have the fight tomorrow night. i'm pretty bummed that i probably won't be able to see it. since i just got home today from the hospital i probably need to stay home tomorrow and help my wife out. i'm about to get digital cable hooked up but at the moment all i have is your standard run of the mill cable.......which you can't get PPV with anymore. but usually you can catch the Pride fights on youtube or vidilife the same night the PPV airs. youtube seems to be cleaning up its act though so it might not have all the fights up.

i watched the Coleman vs. Shogun fight minutes after it happened on youtube. i watched the play by play on Sherdog.com and was freaked out that shogun had broke his arm in a freakish manner and i did a quick search on youtube and the fight was already up. on the flipside though, UFC won't let any of their fights touch youtube anymore. i think they threatened some legal action so youtube keeps a sharp eye on any uploading of the UFC events.

well, i was 3/1 on my PRIDE OWGP predictions tonight.

cro cop dismantled yoshida
big nog took out werdum
wandy silva TKO'ed fujita in the exact manner as i had mentioned

but

josh barnett beat mark hunt by submission. that was my only blemish tonight.

...............................................................................................

wow, what a crappy pay per view! i'm glad that i just watched it at buffalo wild wings and didn't actually purchase the event. the only thing that saved the event was the Wandy vs. Chuck fight announcement. that'll be the "don't miss" event of the year in the UFC. chuck is going to sleep.

I can't wait to see Chuck Vs Wandy I agree with blaze Chuck will be asking did I win at the end of the fight. I don't think Babalu is going to be able to beat chuck.

a lameass stopage. tito hit ken with 5 elbows and the ref stopped it for no reason. unless i'm wrong, they were suppossed to fight so i don't understand why they stopped the fight as soon as it started. shamrock looked fine, he got hit hard a few times but he didn't seemed rocked. funny thing is, the first fight of the night was one of the bloodiest matches i've ever seen in the UFC and they let that beating go on for an entire round but shammy gets hit with a few elbows and game over.........RETARDED!

and egg, have you seen many of wandy's fights? i'm not a huge fan of MMA math but look at how badly chuck got his ass handed to him by rampage and then look at how wandy totally destroyed rampage TWICE! not to mention wandy has fought with some of the best strikers in the world and they couldn't knock'em out. cro cop and hunt are far more powerful strikers than chuck and outweighed wandy heavily. wandy weathered the storm from both of those guys.

i see chuck eating knees and waking up on a stool in his corner. its not that i don't like chuck, i actually really like him. i just don't think he has what it takes to beat wandy. when is the last time chuck actually beat a heavy handed striker? he has been poking wrestlers in the eye for his last 5 or 6 fights.
