Heh, I found that out probably at the same time as you typed that, when they finally came out on stage and Isahn made the announcement.
Good lord, they kicked ass! I'm sure most everyone there had never seen them live, likewise myself, so we had no basis for comparison to say whether that performance was better than Emperor of days gone by. But based on repeated listenings to all their albums, I'd say we all got more than our money's worth and then some.
Goatwhore was a lot better than I expected. In fact, they kinda kicked ass too, if you don't try to compare them with Emperor. Unfortunately, I could not hear the first band's name when they said it, and I intended to ask the HOB staff but forgot... by the time the show was over it wasn't my highest priority anyways heh.

They are coming here a few times in the near future... August 9 at Masquerade, and again October 27 with Celtic Frost. I will probably go to that one.
Well, I didn't get any pics unfortunately. The signing I attended was one after the show for those who purchased VIP tix. I had no idea that we would have our own personal signing there, but its good, because we didn't make it to LA in time for the one at Tower. So I was thinking of taking my camera in, but the HOB told me it wasn't allowed. I was tempted to try and sneak one in anyway, but I was afraid they'd throw me out or take the camera away. And they scanned everyone before they even took our tickets. But then some bitches came in just as Isahn was signing my shirt and had their picture taken with him. I don't know how they got in with their camera. And there were all the peeps with camera phones. It's unfair that they won't let you take a camera in, knowing most phones these days have cameras. Guess I better get me one of those. :(
My bro and I were near the end of the line to get signings and the HOB staff were hustling us through, so I felt really rushed. But I could tell it was wearing the guys out so I didn't begrudge it. I still took my opportunity, tho, to shake all their hands and tell them how freaking awesome they are. Of course, they probably got that from everyone, and of course they know they're the shizznit, but I had to put in my 2 cents worth. So all that about the cameras aside, I had an incredible time there.

He is great... just moved to Phoenix area. His wife finished her residency and got a job at a rehab hospital out there. Now his kid is four years old and looks like he's about six, and they have a new one in the oven... this one's a girl. So Wes is gonna be a Mr. Mom for awhile. He's loving that, because it lets him play World of Warcraft more hehe.
