Peter Beste Exhibit: has anyone seen this?

Post by kfoll » Sat August 26th, 2006, 2:43 pm

I just got back from seeing this exhibit of photos Peter Beste took of Norweigan Black Metal artists. I highly recommend it for anyone who's into them or interested to see a wide range of presentations of these guys. They range from one guy covered in his own shit, to sheeps heads, to Samoth with his daughter in a peaceful field! Really awesome groupings and interesting perspectives.
The show is at Yoyo Boutique & Gallery on Carroll Street, just before you get to memorial Drive on Boulevard. I can't remember the exact address but you can mapquest it if you need to. The artist's site is: http://www.peterbeste.com.

I'm going to buy that poster of Frost with the fire coming out of his mouth. Geez, that one rules. Thats the one they had in Creative Loafing that caught my attention. BTW, didja hear 1349 is coming to LA? Man I'd like to see that. I say that, but really, Emperor is the only band I'd spend that kind of dough going that far to see. And of course they're not coming here. Dammit.

Damn, I thought Goatwhore was opening for them. I reckon I oughta go to Goatwhore's site now and check that out. I didn't go to their last show here just because I was holding out for this one! Not that I'm complaining, I'll definitely want to see 1349 too!

----
I just checked Goatwhore's myspace page, and they are still listed as opening for Celtic Frost. I know that they've been touring also with Venom and 1349, so I reckon this makes sense.
And Saturday I saw Legion X at Swayzes, and they told me they are also on the opening bill.

HOLY CRAP this is gonna be a good show!!!

1349 is doing only the September shows of the tours, they drop off the tour before they get to Atlanta. We get Goatwhore instead, I'd have wanted to see 1349 since it's their first time in the states, but no complaints with another Goatwhore performance either.
