Spiritual Healing? Gene played drums on Symbolic and Individual Thought Patterns...
As for SYL, Gene's drumming isn't as adventurous, mainly because I don't think that's what they're going for with SYL. However, on Devin's albums Infinity, Physicist, and Terria, you can hear Gene doing very interesting things, not just straightforward double bass. I have heard, however, that the new SYL may lean a bit more towards the "progressive" side, instead of just being pummeling, like City and SYL.

Yeah, that's what I said -> "But I guess he felt the album didn't need it."
Thanks for re-iterating I guess.

Yeah Gene rules (except for SYL monotony...)
Marcel Dissantos/Steve Flynn (Atheist)
Asgeir Mickelson (Spiral Architect)
I'm even a Lombardo fan...
then there's <a href='http://www.flexhosting.net/wwwpeart/' target='_blank'>P.E.A.R.T.</a>
I hate drum machines, but this is a little better...

John Tempesta on Testament- LOW
Ronnie Tutt
Jason Bittner is my fav right now. [/quote]
no kidding, Mikkey Dee was pretty awesome when he was w/ King Diamond tho not nearly as good in Motorhead and I really don't know about Dokken but if it was good I probably would have remembered... I think that's a prime example of how a lot of drummers are much better than what you get to hear. Either the mix takes them way out in room for vocals&guitar-wanking or the guys writing the music don't want sophisticated drum parts in the music (ala Motorhead). I think King Diamond was more into having sophisticated music and the guys in the band had the chance to shine.
