DAATH's given me hope that there's still boundaries left to be shattered in the genre. As well, Sean's got a totally unique voice, that I can't compare directly to someone. The phantasmic guitar leads in the background blow my fucking mind every time. It's exotic as shit, and hopefully they will get what their work has earned them.

Piss on Revolver.
you said it!

i agree with the other review on metal archives that stated its not mallcore but its definitely not a "true" death metal release either..... as far as the devil driver vox, ive only heard one song by that band and i guess i can see the comparison, but musically i cant aside from heavy chorus repetition in that music video.... either or, its quite a big leap from that sack of horse shit futility

I wouldn't say pioneering until they've been around long enough to really leave a mark, but their ability to meld catchy heavy grooves with blistering leads and incorporate keyboards without sounding like every second rate black metal band in the process makes them awesome. I walk away from The Hinderers with 3 or 4 songs stuck in my head at once. And despite what you think, Futility is an excellent record as well. Hail Daath.
Fuck it, Dude, let's go bowling.

i just cant get into it all.... i can appreciate the musicianship, but i dont like either song on myspace at all, i dont know what it is that kills it, part of it is definitely the vocalist for me, another is the repetative structure in the songs, its not my cup of tea, it may not generic sounding, but i personally cant stand it at all......

damn dude, your radio station must be really lax! I'd never be able to get Daath or Opeth or anything else like it in rotation! I did see that Jesu was in rotation but I had nothing to do with that.

Not lax, awesome. Our DJs get pretty much free range over rotation so there's usually plenty of metal to choose from.

That's because WRAS is lame.
I had the Daath album programmed before its add date.
& I'm pretty sure the Opeth album is still in heavy rotation...
