I had the special treat of being able to see these guys front row at Centennial Park during the Olympics, didn't seem like they were riding the coat tails of the past at all, full of energy and JAMMING OUT, total mix of people gettin down to their sound. Everyone should respect these guys at the min.
I'm always surprised by what Best Buy has. Then again, they have some kind of deal with Roadrunner and usually have a Roadrunner display.Greg wrote:I just picked up Gorguts' first two albums on one CD while I was dicking around at Best Buy on my lunch hour, and subsequently terrified a car full of my co workers by blasting it all the way back to work.
Those old Roadrunner 2 for 1 releases are the shit!
make sure it aint the christian edited version, walmart always sells those....necroodin wrote:I was in the Wal-Mart in Dawsonville, and picked up Amon Amarth - With Oden On Our Side + Bonus Disc for $12.96 a few weeks ago, was real surprised to see it there.
so far today...
Cumbeast - Human Pinata
Dying Fetus - Purification Through Violence
Obituary - Cause of Death
Incestuous - Brass Knuckle Abortion
Deeds of Flesh - Inbreeding the Anthropaghi
your church was turned into an abortion clinic and we use it all the time... sluts!!!
Yeah, they're good about carrying stuff from Roadrunner, Metal Blade, Relapse, and Century Media usually. I saw a Cryptopsy - Once Was Not Limited Edition in there as well, and a bunch of other good shit.Mike wrote:I'm always surprised by what Best Buy has. Media Play used to carry a ton of metal... at least the one over in Morrow did. I think Ecryptus Mike and Dan might be the only two people here who know the one I'm talking about. Ironically after it closed down a Best Buy moved into their old building.
I'd guess that roughly 90% of the stuff I ever played on Wrekage that came from my own personal collection came from Media Play.

They used to have so much cool shit. A lot of Devin Townsend stuff. Some of the more rare Meshuggah releases. Stuff from smaller labels...
On the plus side I racked up at the store closing sale! Such a small consolation in the long run though...

i think it would be obscene to say media play carried "rare" shit, just because they had more than the most recent release doesnt make it rare if you can buy it anywhere online... media play did have some good metal from time to time, prices werent the most friendly but it was more mainstream metal a la relapse, metal blade, nuclear blast type shit

Fair enough. More rare than Best buy but certainly not to the level of say Deathgasm. I just meant that you could find (for instance) th Fredrik Thordendahl solo CD at Media Play, whereas that new Best Buy they put in it's place doesn't even have ANY Meshuggah.Matt wrote:Strange wrote:I miss that place so much!Greg wrote: Media Play used to carry a ton of metal... at least the one over in Morrow did. What would be obscene however would be if I said it while openly stroking my cock...perhaps in a church.
