Fucking Awesome. Best concert ive seen all year just because of Enslaved.

Manic Sucked,To Horrible to even describe. The fact that most of the lyrics were "Fuck Your (Noun)" and that they played a song that sounded exactly like raining blood and then played a cover of raining blood right after (NEXT SONG) but couldent finish it diden't help. (They never did the cool chaotic blastbeat part at the end)

Second band I forgot who it was,I think it was From exile,In which case, they were exactly as I expected,Two pretty cool guitarists who obviously write all the music, and everybody else in the band who wasent that good, expecially the singer,I was actually getting angry at him,and I don't even know the guy.
Pretty screamo.

Third,I think was the band with the good looking blue haired girl,To bad the music was horrible,Scenester crap-core.

Arsis was fucking awesome as I expected,I hadent listened to much of them before the concert,It inspired me to look into them alot more.

Enslaved of course had the best set,They had fucking great stage presence and they were really interactive with the audience,They played all the classics, really fucking epic, enough said!

Ahahahahahaha, me too. Words cannot describe how badly I wanted to punch that fucker in the throat.

And Enslaved probably put on the best show I've ever seen. That may be because I'm an Enslaved slut, but damn, standing two feet from Grutle is an experience of a fucking lifetime.

Also, I got to meet MS_39455 and Kfoll, which was my first real life encounter with people from the internet.

I liked From Exile's set, they had a lot of energy so it was a fun show.

OMG The Agonist might be the worst band I've ever seen. I can't believe that they're actually signed, especially since they only formed this year and they're with damn Century Media, wtf. Their singer is hot though.

Arsis were great as expected. The new songs were fantastic.

I'm not even going to bother writing about Enslaved because nothing I can say will do their set justice.

I got there right before Arsis, and i do believe I am suffering from ArsisOverExposureItis. Great set, very tight, but I've just seen them so many times. It's kind of like how I feel when I see Cannibal Corpse.

Before Enslaved the manager accused me of smoking marijuana, but it was of course, those other dudes man.

Enslaved doesn't need a whole lot of commenting, if you were there, you know how awesome it was.

Grutal was awesome! I was around that area. Necroodin is right..The whole band was just...fucking kickass,No words can describe.

And Vince,I was not onstage because I was not playing that show.
You see,the fact that you were onstage doesn't mean you were good,Infact you were rather bad.
Props to your guitarists,They were pretty good, again, its pretty obvious they write all the music.

This was hands down the best show I've been to all year. Watain, BtBaM, and Symphony X were all fantastic but the combination of Arsis' energy and kickassery (can you say MADDENING FUCKING DISDAIN) and Enslaved's unparalleled epic-ness just dominates everything else.

P.S. Masquerade staff: The Against? More like The Agonist. Dumbasses. Don't even know who they've booked.

I write a review-blog for nearly every show I go to, so I'll post that here once I get it written.

Oh hey here it is.

Manic: Ohh look, we wanna be Slayer. How fun. These guys opened with a song with lyrics that consisted almost entirely of the word "fuck". Creative. A few songs later was one that started out with the exact same riff from Raining Blood, and we pointed that out. What was even better was that right after, they actually PLAYED Raining Blood. Unexpected? Not really. They didn't even play the whole song. It's sad that this abomination used up time that could have gone towards a longer set for Enslaved or Arsis.

From Exile: To be honest, this was one of the best local metal bands I've seen, if only for the very skilled string-players. The focus of the band is obviously catchy guitars and it's good that the band decided to go that way, because they are no question the best musicians in the group along with the bassist. Drums could have been better. The vocalist was charismatic enough but the skill just wasn't there. It's a problem that plagues most of these kinds of bands who will never really get anywhere. NO versatility. Do something besides a high-pitched growl for chrissakes. Versatility isn't that important in these dime-a-dozen melodeath bands though I guess. The band as a whole played tight and with good energy, but the songs often lost focus and didn't really go anywhere. Long songs should not be written for the sake of being long, ESPECIALLY if you're a melodeath band like this whose real attracting point is catchiness and flashy guitar work. Overall the show could've done without this band, but they were the best of the three openers.

The Agonist: I just want to take a moment to tell the Masquerade staff that they should learn the names of the bands that play there. The Against? Yeah. Do some goddamned research. It's not a big deal though when nobody cares about the band. This band easily got the least amount of feedback from the crowd. Because NOBODY wanted them there. The drummer was the best in the band as is the case with most bad metalcore. The rest of them were embarrassing. LOOK WE CAN PLAY BREAKDOWNS. /me *falls asleep* It's no wonder why they got a chick dressed like a cheap whore to front the band, it's the same with other bands who do it: use an attractive focal point to disguise the shitty music behind it. Nightwish, Leaves' Eyes, Echoes of Eternity, etc. The unfortunate part was that the chick wasn't even that good-looking. Or a good vocalist. Actually, this band wasn't good at all. Yet somehow they got signed to Century Media with a video on Headbanger's Ball. Wait, that's not surprising.

Arsis: Thank god. THIS is when the show became one of the best I've ever been to. They kicked right into The Face of My Innocence and my neck prepared for a beating. Arsis have played Atlanta many many times before but this was the first time I've seen them, and it was in no way disappointing except for the set's time which could have included another song or two. Oh...and the vocals were waaaaaaaaayyy too low. That was a problem the entire night, though, because the people who run the place lack functioning auditory canals. It's a bias because I love Arsis so much, but they fucking slayed. The new drummer was quite competent luckily, I mean jesus his kit was the size of a small car. The other new guys played fantastically, and James The Man Malone dominated for not having done live vocals in a while. Most of the set was from Celebration and a couple new songs, which fortunately sound more like the debut than United in Regret and were quite interesting. I don't recall if they even played any UiR songs. I would've liked Oh the Humanity but that's just picky. They played some of their best: Seven Whispers Fell Silent, MADDENING *@^@ DISDAIN, and A DIAMOND FOR DISEASE. It was a borderline euphoric experience for me. Return would've been cool. Oh well. Arsis made up completely for the opening acts and then some.

Enslaved: I don't know if I'm even authorised to describe what this was like. The stage cleared up and they put a bunch of Ruun shit out and I started to get really excited. Then Grutle, Ice Dale, and the others came out and the whole place flipped. There are few bands I've seen who played better. Flawless on their part. There were a few songs from Ruun and then a ton of older stuff. They even played my favourite song, As Fire Swept Clean the Earth. I can't elaborate how epic it was. If you weren't there you're really out of luck because words can't do it justice. They dedicated Bounded by Allegiance to Vitek. Aaand what else...Fusion of Sense and Earth!! Another favourite. RETURN. TO. YGGDRASILL. Encore with Allfather Odin and I think another one from the split, its name escapes me at the moment. Just...yeah. Magnificent. It's really something chanting and shouting EN-SLAVED, EN-SLAVED next to other people. I shook hands with both Ice Dale and Grutle and we snagged their water bottle. :D Also Jesus Christ at $25 shirts. Come on now. I bought one anyways, but with other people's money >_>

Where the hell did the black metal fans in Atlanta go? That was the smallest turnout for a Heaven show I've ever seen. It's disappointing. Those of us who DID go witnessed an awesome show. Now if only I had a way to get to Suffocation next week...

damn Blarg! you said it all!

I didn't stick around to see the other bands...I watched a few songs and would go somewhere else if I didn't really like it. I think I was talking to someone during Arsis' set but they were good. I've seen them so many times so I wasn't really paying that much attention to them. Enslaved was fucking great though!

I don't know what some of you look like...I'd like to meet those I don't know in person yet (possibly at the next show) like screambloodygore, blarg, and MS_39455. I'm not sure who Brian is either. In case you were wondering, I was the blonde-haired girl with the guy in a Napalm Death shirt who has a shaved head (my bf).
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???
