I mean,Its not hard to interview bands and get a few pictures/reviews and then go down to fedex/kinkos and photocopy some issues.

I could help with alot of it,flyers, some artwork, info. But I don't have the time or money to actually print them or anything like that.
Some professional artwork would be cool, like the old days.
Im sure everyone would be interested in reading an Southeastern based extreme metal zine.

So,Anybody else into this?
Anybody willing to put some time into this idea?
We would need a photographer, someone who can write well, someone to edit and print the copies.
Of course some people would have multiple jobs.

I can write decently and I wouldn't mind editing the articles if nobody else steps up for it. I can also do interviews. I don't really have any graphical skills though but I could probably put together a layout of some sort.

I can do layouts,we would need some kind of old-school magazine artist.
And someone who would fund and print it,I say whoever prints it gets to keep most of the money from sales,I'm not interested in money anyways.
But anyways,Kinkos is pretty damn cheap for black and white printing.

its hard to sell those kind of things, you gotta have like a cd distro or something to fund it, or you gotta have record labels pay you to put ads in it, no one wants to pay for a fanzine in all honesty, its shit you give away at shows or when you trade shirts and cds through the mail

I don't know that it would be all that expensive to do. And Matt is right -- selling something like that is the difference between a magazine and a fanzine.

I am definintely interested in something like this. I was an English major and I have spent about half of my career reading and writing.

Plus, I have a fancy-pants camera. What I don't have, beyond this website, is an intimate knowledge of the local metal scene.

Ah,That's good.
A good camera and writter would be good, even though Im guessing it will be Black and white, which will need a good camera because black and white pictures plus a bad camera usually don't work well.

Unless for the black metal pages..heh

deathgasm used to do this several years back, but if you wanna do it, you gotta do it out of your pocket to contribute/support the scene

Yes kudos on the Deathgasm zine - Alex and Evan did a great job on that.

Fun fact: Deathgasm actually started out as a zine before it was a label.
