you try bringing three bands from overseas and then charge less less than 36 bucks a ticket. I think it's a pretty damn good deal myself. You won't get that much quality metal from a Gigantour show ($37.50).

It's either you pay $36 (actually 48 after TicketBastard rapes you) or you fly overseas to catch an exclusive Gamma Ray show. Your choice.
High on Fire and Bodom (minus AYDY)>>>>>>>> all 3 bands
IMO of course

but really, if the guy only likes one band $36 is verrrryyyyyy expensive. Just because it costs a lot to put on doesn't mean people should sell their first born to go. If that were the case Hannah Montana would have even higher crowds than she does now

and as far as I know, Glenn isn't paying to bring them over like he does for all the other bands playing PP. He's just booking it as part of the US tour right? So that point is kind of invalid (but you know more about the workings of PP than I do so you would definitely have more insight on that subject)

also death/black metal bands come here in packages from Europe sometimes and tickets are like $18

Just thought I'd let you know how it's working from the inside...

1. Helloween & Gamma Ray are 20 year vets of the scene. They have established a certain level of success and financial security over the years. They are not going to accept the same terms & conditions that 99% of the black/death metal tour packages will accept.

2. I have to charge just a bit higher on my ticket simply because I don't own Center Stage nor am I employed by them. I rent it for the night.

3. There is a reason I am the only confirmed show so far in the U.S. Others can roll the dice and see if their local clubs/promoters will book them down the road. Once the last 150 tickets are sold for Atlanta, then some will be regretting it as its not going to be as extensive as they think.

4. Once other shows are announced, you will find that my ticket price is not going to be much different than anyone else.

I wasn't trying to say that Helloween/Gamma Ray should be a $15 dollar show...they're legends in the power metal scene and have huge followings, and with that huge following comes a huge guarantee. I was debating more with the claim that it's impossible to see a few Euro bands on one bill for a relatively cheap price. Of course a show like this is going to have a big guarantee and the only way to cover that is by raising the ticket prices.

I don't think anyone is saying that this show isn't worth it, just that it's expensive, which it is compared to most metal shows. I would gladly pay $1000 to see Death with a resurrected Chuck Schuldiner. Expensive? Yes. No debating there. Worth it? Yes.

the capacity of Center Stage is 1200, so I would have to imagine a number very close to that was put on sale.
