I'm like you. I actually like buying and collecting the albums.
In fact, I just ordered a few more CDs from theendrecords.com last night, as I do as often as possible.

If you have never listened to Pink Floyd then I could see where you would not make any connections with Nachtmystium's "new" direction. I am only familiar with two of Pink Floyd's albums, but you can definitely hear the influence. I wonder how much of Sanford Parker's influence helped to shape "Assassins...?" Buried At Sea's "Ghost" has some rather psychedelic moments. A lot of Neurot bands, following Neurosis of course, have used such psychedelia to expand their sounds. Speaking of Neurot bands, is anyone familiar with US Christmas?
Forgot...to keep the thread going:
Krallice
Opeth "Watershed"
Add to that:
Bestial Mockery "Sepulchral Wrath" cassette
Maledicere "Scythe of the Sun" demo
Waiting on:
Phantom Witch MLP
Elend "The Umbersun" DLP
Necros Christos "Triune Impurity Rites" DLP
Be on the lookout for:
"Wine Of Satan II" compilation featuring exclusive material from Bestial Mockery, Hell Militia, Root, Furze, Code and others! American distros most likely to have this: Hell's Headbangers, Unholy Horde...

If there is a Pink Floyd influence, that explains my dissatisfaction with Assassins; I only enjoyed Floyd when I was smoking a great deal of weed (being stuffed into a Camaro with five other people and blasting A Saucerful of Secrets provided a mindtrip I still recall vividly).
What I really wanted to ask, however, is if you've had reviews published in Terrorizer. Your name looks familiar.

Oh, my "recently played," of course:
A stack of Christian Death Candlelight reissues found used at my local FYE crapstore.
Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve
Cadaver - Necrosis
Nocturnus - the demos
Now watching: France v Italy, Euro 2008

You should give "Assassins..." another listen. I think its great. I have also been stuffed into a Camaro with five other people, but we were listening to Megadeth at the time...I think.

Caught! Yes, that would be me. I hope my reviews were "spot on" as the English like to say...I suppose I am "whoring" myself and Nachtmystium here, but be on the lookout for my upcoming Nachtmystium cover story with Terrorizer. I am quite proud of it. There's a surprise associated with the issue, but I have sworn an oath of secrecy...I can say that is it pretty rad.

Funny, but no. Do you mean Malefic from Xasthur?
Who is the big USBM band that everyone "dick-rides?" The most well known "bands" are one-man projects? Unless you mean Twilight?

Yes, Xasthur, thank you. There was some other one a few years ago that everyone thought was the shit, I think they did some stuff with Xasthur and Nachtmystium awhile back. Maybe I'm thinking of Judas Iscariot, I really dunno.

Maybe you are thinking of Leviathan? If so, Leviathan is Wrest and Wrest is Leviathan. He did contribute to the Twilight effort. If you have not heard the new Leviathan "Massive Conspiracy Against All Life" I recommend it. Highly recommend the 2xLP version if you can find it.
Judas Iscariot was most certainly respected in the underground, but I would not consider that project "big". Big in influence, yes.

LEVIATHAN i had blocked from my mind all these bands.
Winds of the Black Mountains is the only USBM band i really can get into and doesnt sound to me like norsecore.
and i just personally cant stand blake after having experienced his diva qualities live and in person at his house many years ago. but props to your article bro.

My familiarity, or lack thereof, with Pink Floyd is inconsequential to my opinion of Nachtmystium's latest outputs.
I am failing to understand how disliking Nachtmystium's current sound equates having no appreciation for Pink Floyd, as I honestly hear no similarities.
And the Death in June cover was bad.

speaking of neurot bands, i have been listening to blood and time lately. pretty mellow stuff, but i like it. and i have read the reviews for the new nachmystium in every magazine just about except terrorizer (im exagerating, just lame ass revolver and metal maniacs) and i have heard enough talk about it to actually check it out now. not too familiar with them, but i like leviathan. and pink floyd of course rule too.
