Any Between the Buried and Me or Coheed & Cambria fans?

Post by BlackRoija » Sun June 29th, 2008, 5:22 pm

Basically, they are an incredible mixture of Coheed and Cambria, Between The Buried and Me, Blind Guardian, Psychostick, Sikth and Psyopus...while keeping hold of a very distinct and unique sound.

This is a fan description of my band, You Only Live Twice, after our show last night at which we won our Battle of the Bands round. We've moved on to the finals, which will be taking place July 12th at The Warehouse behind Ponier Music on Cobb Parkway/Highway 41. If anyone wants to come check us out and support us, maybe anyone seeking a new band to work with *hint*, feel free to do so. It'd be super awesome. It's only $7 so if you're in the area stop by for some cool music and say hello or something.

We'd love to return the favor. :)

Congrats, first on the win, second on being compared to all those bands -- that's good company. C&C's vox are definitely an acquired taste, and most people on this board probably would hate them (the vocals), but the music can be really cool. Very proggy and bombastic but a little ... uh ... emo.

Coheed is one of my all-time favorite bands -- been following them ever since I was 13 and first heard The Second Stage Turbine Blade. I've become a pretty big BTBAM fan over the past 2-3 years, so I'm very interested in hearing you guys if you're compared to those 2 bands. You guys have any recordings out?

- Thanks! Although my vocals are in no way like C&C. Think more like James Malone or Pekka Kokko. :3

- One of the big reasons we're in this is that the winner gets some studio time, which we're in dire need of since we have no recordings at the moment. We'd like to get some up soon if we find the means.

good luck in the battle of the bands but if you don't happen to win you can get a really good recording for real cheap if your band is tight. if you want a heads up let me know and i could send you the names and numbers to a few really good studios around town that can provide a kickass recording for the low-low.
