i am 21. i wasnt driving. we were pulled over b/c my friend's truck didnt have a taglight. it was a misdemeaner. it did happen in mcdonough. and im sick of worrying about it. i have been told so many different things could happen, but at the most would be that i get a year of probation and a fine..maybe some classes, community service. and i have also been told that you could just pay the fine and not have to deal with probation...?
i have been looking at this website (norml.com), and they have some contacts in georgia i am considering calling. including some lawyers. but im not quite sure what i need to do.
i just watched this documentary playing on HBO about this australian chick who may or may have not smuggled 4 kilos into indonesia, and she got a life sentence (20 yrs.). suddenly i feel a little better about my scenario.

AC/DC's drummer and that Dave Holland guy from Judas Priest are also pretty bad, as in they're allergic to fills.Vhyle wrote:Hahah!
He can't be as boring as the drummer for the Rolling Stones.
But yeah, my night consisted of me recording some guitar tracks in my underwear, eating leftover Chinese food and watching TV.

Somebody once told me that they think the drummer for AC/DC was awesome.
I was like "Uhh awesome at what? Keeping a beat?"

So you understand, I am a lawyer who works at the DeKalb Public Defender, and I have handled tons of weed cases. In the grand scheme of things, it is more of a nuisance than anything else. But, there are some obstacles that you can avoid if you prioritize. Does your citation say that you are supposed to go to Henry County State Court? If so, it is unlikely that you will just be able to pay a fine and not have probation. I would definitely recommend that you get a lawyer, whether appointed through the Court or retained by you, who works in Henry County and knows the ropes there. If it is Henry County, it is probably going to involve a fine, community service, and random drug tests. That's just the way they do things there.slut rag wrote:i am 21. i wasnt driving. we were pulled over b/c my friend's truck didnt have a taglight. it was a misdemeaner. it did happen in mcdonough. and im sick of worrying about it. i have been told so many different things could happen, but at the most would be that i get a year of probation and a fine..maybe some classes, community service. and i have also been told that you could just pay the fine and not have to deal with probation...?
I agree, there isn't anything wrong with keeping it simple.AmoebicDysentery wrote:Um...isn't that what a drummer is supposed to do? Theres nothing wrong with keeping it simple.Vhyle wrote:

But there is such a thing as TOO simple, in my opinion.
I guess you had to be there, though... that guy was making out that he was the best drummer alive.
Man, that fucking sucks. If you had refused to pull it out of your pocket he couldn't have done anything legally, unless there was something you said or did that gave him cause for a search.slut rag wrote:i got caught in the most stupid way. i left the house to go get some cigars, halfway to the car i realize i have a blunt on me, but i figure..im only going to the store right up the street, what could happen? i pull in the parking lot of that fucking BP ill never go to again and 2 cop cars are sitting there talking. i walk into the store, buy my cigars, walk back to my friend's truck and we leave..the cop cars are now next to my friend's truck sort of but i figure they didnt want to block the customers from getting gas or something. we leave as i closely watch the mirror. we get halfway down the street and i see noone pull out so i think im in the clear. we pull into my neighborhood and before we can reach the middle of that first road, blinking blue light start flashing and instantly there is a spotlight on us. both cop cars followed us. one cop asks the driver questions and the other cop ask me questions. they pull us out and search us. the cop pats me down and feels something in my pocket. i say its trash and so he asks me to pull it out. i pull out the weed and i sort of panicked and i drop the weed in the back of the truck and i pull out a wendy's burger wrapper out of the back of the truck (it was really obvious!). the cop insists that the burger wrapper was not what he felt in my pocket and demands me to sit. seconds later he finds the weed and i get put on a cop car.....i personally think me and my friend were targeted b/c we are both wearing death metal shirts. it was a misdemeaner ( i think i spelled that right...) and it was my first time offense. my parents insist i wont get probation and if i do, it will be the kind of probation that doesnt require monthly visits and drug tests. and on top of that, i heard from somewhere that i can plea no-low (im not sure how to spell that one at all...), and get nothing but a fine. im really confused and know nothing about the legal system except that it sux dix. anyone know anyway i can avoid as much as possible. or if i got probation, cant i pay it off and not have to report back?.....i have lots of questions....please help me. i think my life will be over if i cant smoke.
I'd get a lawyer ASAP, if I were you. It's worth it, and some will let you pay a little at a time if you can't afford the whole fee. Don't enter a plea without counsel!! There could be some technicality that might work in your favor, but a plea will make all other bets off. I'd recommend my boss if you were anywhere near Floyd County. As far as probation goes, they'll probably make you take monthly drug tests and you'll have to report in person until the fine is paid, and after that monthly by phone with random drug testing.
You might want to look into Salvia.
I am personally looking into moving to California. I hear there are vending machines out there.

Well in my opinion, the point of both bass and drums in heavy music is to fill every hole that the guitars and vocal melodies might leave.AmoebicDysentery wrote:Um...isn't that what a drummer is supposed to do? Theres nothing wrong with keeping it simple.Vhyle wrote:

good luck if you do! You couldn't even pay me to move to California! Alot of handguns (maybe all, I'm not sure) are illegal and I couldn't have that!kfoll wrote:Seriously thinking about it...Metalfreak wrote:ummm are you serious? about moving that is?kfoll wrote: I am personally looking into moving to California. They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???
Handguns aren't quite illegal, but California's gun laws are fucking stupid. I believe you can't have anything higher than a 10-round capacity in any weapon, rifle or pistol. Semi-automatic rifles are extremely restricted, i.e. pistol grips are illegal. That means no AKs or ARs, if you're a fan of those weapons. You can get CA-legal versions of those, but they are pretty much pointless. For example - a CA-legal AR-15 has NO pistol grip, and the magazine is a FIXED, 10-round mag. You cannot even remove the mag.Metalfreak wrote:good luck if you do! You couldn't even pay me to move to California! And also, I believe in some areas, .22LR is banned.
Yes, .22LR.
Oh, and of course the ridiculous Microstamping Bill that Arnold signed. This means that every single weapon will have very tiny serial numbers embedded into the firing pins and extractors, so when you fire a round, the number is stamped into the primer, and into the casing of the cartridge.
You couldn't pay me enough to live in California. That place needs to just break off and float away already.
