There's a college thread, so there might as well be one for the pros.
To get the ball rolling, here's a few reasons why I'm looking forward to this year's season:
[*] Watching the Pats sink into mediocrity.
[*] My beloved Raiders might win more than four games this year. Maybe.
[*] Enjoying the hilarious parody of football that is the Atlanta Falcons.
[*] The hope that Brett Farve gets Darryl Stingley'd on opening day.
And onward...

BRING ON THE NFL!
- hopefully the Raiders do get a bit better this year. i've always been a fan and i have McFadden in two fantasy leagues
- the Pats will most likely get nowhere near mediocrity. they won't run the table again but they'll lose less than 3 games.
- the falcons are not going to be awesome but the won't be "football parody" either. just a team rebuilding itself that has finally taken the right steps to do so. i'm a huge falcons fan and i always will be no matter how bad it gets but i really think that the new coaching staff and GM are doing all the right things. last year was a debacle and they still found a way to win 4 games and should've won at least 3 others. that tells me that this team, with better talent and better coaching should be at the very least competitive and should win 6 or 7 games.
- and as far as Bret Farve is concerned i hope he does well. the jets need a resurrection and they've been wasting talent at WR for years. now that Farve is there they can actually look further than 20 yds down the field.
now some things i'm excited about......
- Falcons, Steelers and the Colts
- Seeing the Colts healthy and putting an ass whoopin on the Pats
- Seeing just how good the Cowboys really are. I used to hate'em terribly but they've been winning me over the last few seasons. I think I've always seen them as kind of a powder puff team. overrated players that always played nice. now they seem to be more of a football team. they've signed some players with attitude and they hit people in the mouth on offense and defense.
- Figuring out if the Browns and Bengals can actually continue to be competitve teams.

The Falcons were pretty impressive yesterday. Obviously Michael Turner won't rush for 200+ every game, but I think we can win six or seven. They showed some confidence during the game, and there was also some offensive flow, which is a feeling I never got during the Vick era. I guess we'll see what happens.
As for the Dolphins, I wasn't impressed, though I only flipped to the game during the commercials of the Falcons game. It looked like Pennington was getting dropped on every play, and to quote that old saying, there's not a quarterback in the league who can make good throws lying on his back. Hopefully they'll get better, the Bretts were probably a tough first outing.
