Dude, you're making me feel ancient. Perhaps I wasn't being clear -- I had already wandered away from metal by the time Carcass released their second album and no one in my group of friends knew about their first. As I said, they are in my metal blindspot.

I obviously missed out on a lot in the '90's, which is a shame.
OK, sounded like you were saying it was odd that middle aged people would be into Carcass. I think you're maybe 2 or 3 years older than I am. Symphonies came out right before I started high school (which is when I heard it), and I thought it was really cool and very different, but when Necroticism came out I was floored. Heartwork was awesome as well. It was really funny to hear the people who got me into them originally calling them sellouts. Like, yeah...No Love Lost is going straight to the fucking top 40 charts. haha

As far as the influence goes, I'd place Carcass as one of the most influential bands in Metal!

They started Gore Grind with their first two albums.

They were a huge player in the beginnings of what is now called Tech Death with Necroticism and Tools of the Trade (along with the material that bands like Death, Cynic, Atheist and Pestillence were putting out at the time).

And all the Shadows Fall / Killswitch Engage type bands all came from Carcass (Heartwork) and At the Gates. Adam from KSE referred to Heartwork as his bible.

So yeah...I'd say they left a big nasty curdled stain on music history.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

I saw you! I didn't know that was you though...I just remember that shirt.

I had on camo shorts and a girly dimmu borgir shirt. oh, and flip flops like a retard! lol I didn't think about putting on my boots when I left my place...only one toe got stepped on though

and all I can say about Carcass...wait I can't say anything because I am fucking SPEECHLESS! Holy mother fuck they are the best band I have seen in a long time...I think this show goes in my top 5! (I'm not sure where to place it yet...need to think about it) I was blown away by how well they performed. There aren't many bands that can ever top that amazingness!

Suffocation of course was great as always, 1349 was great to see again and Aborted was good too...I didn't see some of their set though.

I saw Matt, Tommy, Sara, Strange, Dan and a bunch of others.

see you fucks at Obituary!!!
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

My sentiments exactly, little buddy.

I got good and trashed, as intended, and even took a hit off of a mystery joint right before Suffocation.

Best show ever x infinity.
