this show was great! I didn't get to see all of Skeletonwith but what I saw killed! Winds of Plague had some good ones but I like them better on CD. Moonspell was fucking awesome but I think they should have been allotted to play a little bit longer. Dimmu as always was awesome! No complaints. Danzig was good too...I actually had to leave about half way through his set so I could catch the very last marta bus that goes by my place. I caught it obviously.
Oh yeah, for those who didn't go, they did NOT allow cell phones, cameras or studded belts (even teeny-tiny studs). Those idiots didn't ask me to lift my shirt up and they didn't check the little pocket in my purse so I had on my belt and cellphone. Anyways, when I left I asked one of the security guys why the belts weren't allowed (as I showed him my belt haha!)...apparently some fuckasses were using them to hit people in moshpits recently. I bet you anything it was some emo fuckass that really needs to get his ass kicked!

I went to Kamelot instead unfortunately, although it was a cool show. What was Danzig's setlist like?

I only got to see the last half of dimmu and all of Danzig.
I've never liked Dimmu but I thought whatever, they at least must have a cool show with a huge budget like that. But they were extremely boring. Their sound wasn't very good either. Too much synth and it got muddy.
Danzigs set was really damn fun. He played a lot of stuff from Lucifuge so that ruled. To be honest I didn't think his sound was all that great. The bass literally had no mids and was very quiet and the guitar tone didn't really have clarity. Still put on a fun show that was awesome.
Thanks to Amanda and We're Not Gonna Take it for the free tickets.

Pretty good show Saturday night. That was actually my first time seeing Danzig and I thought he rocked it pretty well (got nothing to compare it to). Kind of cool seeing Tommy Victor and Johnny Kelly up there too. Not a bad setlist either. Dimmu Borgir seemed a little livelier than usual.
The regular crew was spread a little bit thin with so many shows going on at once...Kamelot, Wovenhand, Mastadon, etc. Still managed to spot a few quality folks for good evening.

Does security usually ask you to lift your shirt?Metalfreak wrote:Oh yeah, for those who didn't go, they did NOT allow cell phones, cameras or studded belts (even teeny-tiny studs). Yeah, the belt thing...they do that at Lakewood now too. Feckin' annoying. I'd like to punch whoever caused this to be accepted practice. Who the fuck hits people with a belt? I mean...besides fathers. And if you were gonna use a belt to actually hurt people, wouldn't a regular belt with a solid buckle be much more effective?
Anyway, glad it was (by all accounts) a good show. I couldn't go due to excessive broke-ness, but Josh (singer for Prime Mover) and his wife went, and they actually got to meet Glenn Danzig!
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

Yeah I never understood hitting people with belts...even fathers beating their kids. That's just cruel in my eyes!

Well, I don't think you should ever "Beat" your children. But as my father once explained it, that's the reason we have an ass...so we can learn.Metalfreak wrote: Yeah I never understood hitting people with belts...even fathers beating their kids. That's just cruel in my eyes!

I can tell you my dad's temper is extremely volatile but he just breaks things, not his family...he will beat others though no problem!
