That is actually a good idea... not just LoA and PM, but all the Atlanta metal bands in a showdown. Only not playing, but mud wrestling.

And while I'm in favor of more solidarity in the Metal scene in general, I will say that an actual "blades, axes and hammers" battle of the bands would be a hell of a lot more interesting than some Bodog/Emergenza bullshit! haha
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

I don't think I can go
At least I've already seen Watain, and Withered several times, but it'd be cool to see Book of Black Earth, and LoA will be there for Horna

There was a light turnout at this show and I think people missed out.
My friend and I arrived just before Book of Black Earth went on. I know that some people really enjoyed it, but I don't know them and I couldn't hear the guitars at all in the mix. Maybe the earplugs were shoved in too far.
Withered did a good job, as always. The debuted a new song last night, but I didn't catch the title. If that is any indication, the new album will not disappoint.
Watain left a definite impression. The show was in hell and before they came on I went down the hall to the bathroom and couldn't figure out why some smelly motherfucker couldn't shower before going out. It turns out, I was completely wrong. It wasn't B.O. that I was smelling but the rotting stench of their stage decorations. I think maybe they acquired new lambs and pigs heads at the begining of the tour, which was almost a month ago, and haven't gotten new ones, since. Some guy, a staff member or crew member, was actually placing deodorizers around. I had to laugh when the guy setting up the stage pulled the heads out of a trash bag, put them on various spikes, and then wiped his hands on his jeans. Nasty.
Musically, they were very intense. Apparently, Set Teitan from Dissection is touring with them. The singer, Erik Danielsson, was also playing bass and, at times, looked quite possessed. I got the feeling that he was muttering incantations under his breath, between songs. Maybe even cursing the audience. Otherwise, they were tight and intense and sounded really good.
I won't forget this one for awhile.

Yeah, ridiculously cool show last night. I actually think that Watain's mix might've been a little better this time than when they played the Unicorn some time back. I don't think I'm imagining that. As I'm typing this, my jacket still smells like that rancid racoon that was slathered onto the mic stand. No Dissection covers this time around, but "Stellarvore" was the highlight of my night!
Things got a little weird when someone was stabbed just off the side street behind the Masq at the end of the night. I wasn't able to get any real details by the time I left. Not sure if anyone else here got the straight story. Cops were everywhere for a minute or two. Memorable evening.
