anyone think thats a good buy? i like evrything tone wise and the effects are awesome not to mention i can program my own into this thing, but i guess im just worried about how long it will last. my last amp was a crate (not a halfstack, was a combo) and those amps have so many problems. everyone i know that has owned a crate amp has had issues. i got a year warranty on the head.....hopefully i wont have to use it......

just trying to get some (late) advice from some true gear heads as i dont know that much about equipment...

appreciate any feedback...

I personally have never had good luck with line 6 products. I've found them to be extremely unreliable. And when it does break, its impossible to get it fixed because nobody will fix line 6 gear because its all modeling not tube or solid state. Its just a huge pain in the ass.

however, my guitar player has a different line 6 head that you put a pic of and it sounds awesome. his head is pretty high end from what i can tell though.

Dude, you should have waited to ask someone. The head is horrible live, it just doesn't have the power, I have the bogner Spyder Valve Head and I fucking love that thing to no end. But EVERY OTHER Line 6 product live sucks big time, from my experiences. You should have went with a Randall Rh100 if your doing cheap solid state. Trade it in, promise you won't regret it.

This is the fucking truth man. Spider amps are notoriously bad. Extremely unreliable.

But yeah, look into a 5150.

umm....shit......i dont know, i really like this thing. it gets pretty loud too. im a bit confused about what you mean by the head is horrible live...is it not loud enough? or something else?

With experience you will learn dude hahahahahaha Promise you that!!!! I was a crate guy myself, I had the GFX 2x12. Thought it was the best thing I could buy. Then went to Line 6 cause it sounded cool. but dude, after playing with other bands you'll see the difference. This I shit you not.

Thanks man, the Line 6 Bogner tube head is the only Line 6 product I would use live. Period. And also is my favorite head too!!! I'm defenitly not a Mesa Fan or 5150/6505 fan ( sorry Pat hahahah)

the real important thing about amps is durability to me. you can squeeze a good tone out of just about anything........that doesn't have CRATE written on it.

it just takes a lot of time and effort to dial in exactly the tone you want.

personally i like my 5150 II head. i also really like VHT pitbulls and bogners. but i've also spent some time with an old marshall valvestate that ended up sounding better than a mesa dual rec that the guitar player i was playing with at the moment had.

Chuck Shuldiner was using valvestates exclusively by the end and we all should know how badass his tone was. thats a testament to the inexpensive, solidstate amp potential. you just have to spend some time with it.

Yeah. His guitar tone on The Sound of Perseverance was simply unreal. One of my favorite recorded metal tones, ever.

And you're right about solid state. Everyone shits on it, but if they would take some damn time and dial in a sound they truly like, they would like it more. Nobody has the patience to mess with it.

ok, i probably deserve this. but , yeah, i think i am having some (minor) issues with my line 6 head already! the only thing is...my tuner that is built into the head isnt working like it used to. it used to be that i could plug in...hold the "tap" button for 2 seconds and it would go into tuner mode. but now when i turn it on...ill go to tune...hold the "tap" button and some of the channel buttons will blink oddly and the head wont go into tuner mode. but if i wait like 3 minutes...then hold the "tap" button and it will work fine. thats the ONLY issue im having, but its enough to piss me off and at least use the warranty i bought for the head.

my question for you guys is i know guitar center covers equipment for one lousy month... but since i bought a year warranty...how do i use it. i will of course call guitar center tomorrow about this, but i though one of you people could help me out. i didnt fill out any of the paper work that i got with the amp and head b/c i specifically asked the salesperson if i had to do ANYthing about the warranty and he said he would handle everything. he fucking better be right.

please give me some feedback and none of this "i told you so" bullshit. haha thanks.
