Yeah dude call guitar center. More than likely you'll have to take it to where you bought it and they will send it in to line 6 to get it fixed. HAHAHA dude I'm telling you, its gonna DIE. HAHAHA, just get a regular solid state if you can trade it in dude. Oh, and if you do send it in to get fixed you probably won't get it back for like a month LOL. Its prettyyyyyy shittyyyyyy.slut rag wrote:NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo

no way these companies can release products and they just "die" however long later.. there is just no way...
Well maybe saying that its going to DIE is a little harsh. LOL, but you will experience problems for sure. Its a known fact that line 6 products are very faulty. Sorry dude!

Much wisdom in this post.BlazeTSU wrote:the real important thing about amps is durability to me. you can squeeze a good tone out of just about anything........that doesn't have CRATE written on it.
it just takes a lot of time and effort to dial in exactly the tone you want.
personally i like my 5150 II head. i also really like VHT pitbulls and bogners. but i've also spent some time with an old marshall valvestate that ended up sounding better than a mesa dual rec that the guitar player i was playing with at the moment had.
Chuck Shuldiner was using valvestates exclusively by the end and we all should know how badass his tone was. thats a testament to the inexpensive, solidstate amp potential. you just have to spend some time with it.
I'm all about the Mesas, but you can't go wrong with a 5150/6505. You can pick them up for next to nothing if you keep your eyes open. VHT are AWESOME if you can afford one.
A far as Line 6 goes, the Vetta II is killer. You can do anything with it and it has more than enough power. I'm not a Line 6 guy in general, but that amp changed my mind about that whole company (that and seeing Krisiun live with their guitarist cranking out ungodly tone from a rackmount Pod). If you can take what you got back to GC and put some money with it to get a Vetta II I would highly recommend that course of action.
But the question is what do you want out of an amp? What do you want it to do? Do you want a very flexible amp with lots of different sounds and effects? If so, line 6 is for you. Or do you want a solid 1 or 2 channel amp with great distortion? If so, then I'd say sell the line 6 gear and pick up the 5150 that the dude on here is selling.
Either way, spend as much time and effeort as you can dialing in your sound. Also, check the amps manual. I learned all kinds of shit about how to make my Mesa sound better just from learning the signal chain inside the amp. I never would have thought to adjust the gain/eq from right to left, but that's how their particular signal chain works. So just by learning that little fact I was able to have a lot more control over my sound.
Hope this helps.

i just cant afford much else. i may not have a job for longer and then on top of that...probation fees and car problems...and fucking everything else. i can not afford to breathe at this point.
i called guitar center and turns out that i was covered by a guitar center warranty for 60 days rather than 30. so this means i can take the head back and can exchange it for a completely new one. as far as what i want out of an amp is everything really (im quite selfish). i love all the effects i can get out of my line 6, but i also want the fucking thing to last.
there is no way i can take it back and put more money down to get something better. i have to live with what i got. but whatever malefic dude mentioned about his head frying b/c of weather and humidity makes me wonder if the very minor issue i had with the line 6 is maybe because i keep it in a garage turned practice room outside. it can get pretty cold out there. though i dont see much humidity getting in to the building, is it possible that the coldness could affect my amp. i know how you have to "warm up" tube amps...and yes...i know i dont have a tube amp... but my amp works fine if i let it sit with the power on for like 2 minutes. but all of this pissed me off and i rather go trade my head in for a completely new one. fuck i have no clue about anything.
p.s.- strange, one of your band members came in to my work today (i work at a shitty hole in the wall bait shop, dont make fun of me haha). he was wearing a rage against the machine shirt and just to shoot the breeze, i brought up metal and how i went to the carcass show. he went on to explain how his band members were into the "heavier" stuff...i asked what band he was in ...and he said prime mover. i gave props, and that was pretty much it.
just throwing that one out there.

Prime Mover had to play a gig once entirely on borrowed gear. Our truck had broken down on a trip to FL and the only way we could get back was to leave it parked at a friend's house and ride back with some other friends who were heading back. We weren't able to get back to FL in time to get the gear so if it weren't for the guys in Left Hook and State of the Art we wouldn't have had ANYTHING to play through. Guitars/Amps/Drums...nothing!

Well if the head you've got is everything you're looking for, then rock on. If you change your mind later than you can always sell it and buy something else. I was just suggestiong that you think about doing so now if you have doubts about it because right now GC will most likely give you full store credit on what you bought if it is defective, but if you decide in a year to trade it in on something else they're going to give you half of what it's worth on a trade-in.slut rag wrote:i just cant afford much else. i may not have a job for longer and then on top of that...probation fees and car problems...and fucking everything else. i can not afford to breathe at this point.

The cold shouldn't affect a solid state amp. But humidity could be a problem for any piece of gear if that were an issue. Good luck getting it fixed up. I've got a Marshall head that I still need to get fixed and just haven't had the cash to put it in the shop.
Funny that you ran into Ryan. But I'm not surprised that it was in a bait shop. He's all about some fishin'!
