I just about had a heart attack and then saw that it's in Florida. I may consider travelling for this...

I wasn't going to reply to this thread, but I went to lunch and heard "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" on the radio at the Johnny's Pizza.
Maiden was the first metal band I saw, back in June of 1985, on the Powerslave tour. They freakin' rocked. I don't know that I would go see them now, though. If they came to Atlanta, I might. But I don't really enjoy stadium shows anymore, and arena shows are pretty close behind. For me, I think if I saw them now it would sort of tarnish my experience back in the day.
Plus, I'm lazy.

I really wish they were coming to Atlanta, but seriously, fuck it. I'm going!
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

i'm gonna do my best to go see them! Maiden fuckin' rules. I drove to San Antonio to see them last year and my buddies and i met Janick Gers at an Irish Bar! It was awesome. And then the morning after the show we ran into him again at Denny's! He is very easy going. I wish more people in bands would take him as an example and curb their unnecessary egos.

I have made an oath to see Iron Maiden in concert before I die, it seems like this is a very close chance for it to come true. I just don't think I could work this out financially.

I got to see them back in 1984 or '5, I can't remember which... it was at the Omni with Ingwe Malmsteen.

February 2, 1985,
I think. Everything is on the web, these days.

Awesome! Dammit I wish I'd kept the ticket stub. Might have been worth something at least as a conversation piece.

damn you old people getting to see great bands!
anyways, I could prob swing this financially
but I may not be able to swing it because of school. I'm taking some pretty tough classes this semester and I don't think my grades can afford this...we'll see...

Everyone should see Maiden live. Really and truly, I haven't followed their work since the late '80's, but they are legendary for a very good reason.
I hope you find a way to make it work.

just looked on my calender...there's a field trip planned for one of my classes on April 3rd (to Plant Scherer)...yeah I don't think I'll be able to go to this...that would be cutting it real close.
I could always go in the summer! any of these would work:
USA June 14, 2008 Holmdel, NJ PNC Bank Arts Center
USA June 15, 2008 New York, NY Madison Square Gardens
USA June 17, 2008 Camden, NJ Susquehanna Bank Centre
USA June 18, 2008 Columbia, MD Merriweather Post Pavilion
USA June 20, 2008 Mansfield, MA Tweeter Center for The Peforming Arts
especially the Mass date since I have family all over that area. I've been to Tweeter like 8000 times and I was planning on going up to New England for a week anyways...now I have an excuse!
