I'm pretty sure it was Tiger Army...I remember that King Diamond was there that night in Heaven too. I don't remember when that was; maybe '03 or '04? Also, I've seen Coheed and Cambria like 3 times I think. Amazing.

I think it was WRAS-Fest in 1995 or so. I could be getting it mixed up with something else, but I'm pretty sure 311 headlined. And I think KMFDM was there. Or maybe that was another show. Anyway, I was, uh, taking a decade-long break from metal at that time, and Alternative Press was my bible, thus I listened to all the trendy shit. (But the Sextasy Ball with Lords of Acid and Thrill Kill Kult -- also at the Masq -- was one hell of a show.)

Funny and embarrassing story: When I was a teen, a friend of mine and I got tickets to ... Frehley's Comet ... when they played the Masquerade (I'm guessing this was in '88 or '89). We got his mom (my friend's, not Ace's) to drive us there, but when we saw all the black-clad, tatted-out, and openly drunk hooligans milling about the premises, we chickened out and missed the show. We were ... I believe the technical term is: pussies.

Fear Before the March of Flames, Bear vs. Shark (still one of the best performances I've ever seen), and The Fall of Troy in 2004-ish.

I'll second that request for some sort of listing of shows at the Masquerade, since that's the ONLY way I could hope to figure out what my first show there was.

(It was a LOONG time ago.)

I THINK my first one was GWAR, Bloodlet and Cattle Decapitation back in like 2001. I think.

WRAS-fest was at the Maquerade before? Damn, I wish it still was!

I think the first time I went there was a local show but I think it was like Nothingface and Vision of Disorder in 2000 I think.

Seeing Agnostic Front and Obituary together would be awesome.

My virgin Masquerade experience was that Suffocation show in '06, which I didn't get tickets to, but I did go in to see the locals in Hell. I believe it was the night Waited, Organ and Sybaritic played, and the guy who was currently drummer for Daath , Matt, played guitar with Organ for that show.

I remember I was standing near the door when Agnostic Front finished, and seeing this giant swarm of bald heads approaching my direction and heading for the exit.

Hate Eternal/God DeThroned and Cannible Corpse was mine. HE was ok. GD was good and CC just sucked. I hate that corpsegrinder retard.

Well, not trying to compete or anything, but my Very First show @ The Masquerade was in 1988, even before it was called "The Masquerade"!
It was still being callled "The Excelsior Mill" & I first saw Danzig's very first show w/ his solo band! I even remember the opening bands too! The first was an excellent local old skool skate punk band called "Dead Elvis" & the other band was some band called The Goats! There was also another show going on the same night @ The Omni, it was Ozzy w/ Anthrax opening!
this was in december btw! But yeah, that was my first masquerade show! I think I just showed my age just now!!!
