I wanted to go but $50 to see Metallica. Someone would have to have at least split the price.

I was a huge, huge Metallica fanboy back in the mid-'80's. I don't even recognize the titles of some of those songs in that setlist.

Eek!

My favorite Metallica memory was exiting the Omni with everyone chanting, "DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!", all the way to MARTA and on the TRAIN and all the way HOME. "Creeping Death" had that effect. People were freaked the fuck out.

LOL! that's the only dissappointment I had...they didn't play Creaping Death

well, I have seen them 4 times before and it's not like I never got to see it live before.

@Knucklehead - haha yeah I didn't recognize them when played live either...well I recognized the ones played on the radio. I know they're off the new album (which I have) but I haven't listened it to the point where I would know them live. They are great songs though that's for sure.

@Generubin - yep, they sure were expensive! Mine was $75 but someone gave me $50 (as a grad present specifically for this show) so I only had to pay $25. That helped alot!

No "Creeping Death"?! No "Die!" chant?

Bah.

I remember seeing them at Lakewood Amphitheater one year and the place was packed. 18,000+ kids all chanting "Die! Die! Die!" and the security people were getting visibly, obviously nervous as shit. I was walking back across the covered section and I slid up next to one of the security guys and told him "Hey, relax, bud. They do this at ALLL the shows" and he just let out a huge sigh of relief. "Shit, thanks!"

I think that was the show where I had front-row center seats...thanks to two friends of mine who staked out the Turtle's store in Dalton and got me tickets since I had to work that morning. They couldn't believe they'd bought a pair of front-row tickets -- they usually go to contest-winners and VIPs -- and neither did I.....until I had them in my hands.
