Brought to you by the band that hasn't released any good material in 23 years

Didn't they say something before about this being their last album?

Slayer was the band that got me into metal when I was a pre-teen, but I don't listen to them enough anymore to even burn their new cd. I will probably listen to some of the songs as time goes on, but Christ Illusions hardly had any songs worth listening to when it came out.

My fave band of all time. Even a horrible record like this will never change that.

Christ Illusion was the first Slayer album that I truly disliked.

I'm pretty sure this will be the second.

Diabolus was the first one I disliked, then they recovered a bit, but this new one is dissappointing.
See you in Hell!

Seasons in the Abyss was the first one that I disliked. I'm not sure why, since everyone else considers it a classic album. It seemed to me that it missed something that RIB and SOH had. FWIW, I liked Christ Illusion. I haven't heard much between SITB and Christ Illusion.

I listened to the first song last night and was pretty underwhelmed. The second song seemed okay. I'm sure I'll give the album a more thorough listening soon.

SoH has some decent stuff on it, but that's where they began to tank for me. Still, a band with three masterpieces, a great EP, and essential live rec, is something fucking else.

Show No Mercy
Haunting the Chapel
Live Undead
Hell Awaits
Reign in Blood

Not fucking bad...

they, much like the rest of the "big 4," should have stopped after '86

anthrax 'til '87 but still... it was all pretty much downhill from there

Yeah, agree. As long as they continue to tour though or at least play every couple years.

All in all I can never dislike Slayer. They use to be my favorite band of all time, but now there is other things I'm into that have much more appeal than Slayer. I will say that after finally seeing them headline at Mayhem Festival I would see them every time. Seeing Slayer live made me feel 13 again.
