badcarburetor wrote:I bought more new music this year than in ages. Mainly because vinyl is back and better quality than ever. Two albums stood out above all others:

Kreator - Hordes of Chaos
Came out like, what, third week of January and I knew it would remain my favorite album of the year.

Vreid - Milorg
Another great album that I've been playing over and over...

And a couple others came to mind, at least I think they are 2009 and not 2008. Whatever, this is when I bought them:

No Remorse, No Retreat - To Glory We Ride
If you know, you know. If not it sounds like good Pagan metal.

Wasted Time - Futility
Classic, old school sounding thrashy hardcore shit.

Haven't been listening to WREKage too much, then. I tend to play OM'sC a lot.
hahahaha I do listen but it's usually earlier on in the night and not for long either cause I'm usually in the car or some shit. Hell, I probably just turned it off right before you played it
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

New Graf Orlock is pretty sweet...Got that Nachos at MDF this year, along with the new Magrudergrind. I like that they have progressed into a tad more serious/structured form of a band.

Arghoslent's new spit has become my album of the year. Fodder for the Shoah contains one of the most memorable riffs I've ever heard.

I just got the new Toxic Holocaust 7" in the mail. Will listen to it tomorrow. May just jump to the top of my list.

The most recent Nachtmystium is up there, too.

Shit, I can't believe I almost forgot -

ATOMIZER - Caustic Music For The Spiritually Bankrupt
Freaking amazing and totally underrated. I don't give a fuck that it came out in December 08. Amazing record. Fucking shame they broke up. Thank you, Hells Headbangers for the badass packaging!

Also, fuck it, I'll say it...I love the new Slayer. I don't care. I love it. I do. No shame here...

Totally differnent genre, but Superyob's Quality Street is just that; quality street rock. If you like anything vaguely related to oi or early 70s British glam, defo check it out. The cd is available and the vinyl willl be soon on Rock and Roll Disgrace records.

There is a Slade BBC recordings 2xCD set that recently came out that is top notch.

So, yeah, lots of good shit in 2009. Guess this year wasn't a total wash...

Badcarburetor, don't be ashamed, the new Slayer kinda grew on me too and I like it more now then I first did lol. Its got some lame parts too, but they have been my favorite band for 20 years and I'll never give up on them. Even if you don't like it, it's still better than Diabolus in Musica for sure! Can't wait for the show at Gwinnett Arena with Megadeth. The fact that its about 5 mins from my apt. makes it that much better.
