Majority of these "scion" bands went to shit as soon as they started. 'Cept for Harvey Milk, of course. They are unreal in a world or real.Spewtilator wrote:after once upon the cross they went to shit.VOEGTLIN wrote:Deicide is real metal, though...

HARVEY MILK
KYLESA
ZOROASTER
WITHERED
TOXIC HOLOCAUST
SKELETONWITCH
RWAKE
its a matter of taste but id say a good chunk of the bands that played scion have released good to great material almost exclusively. also, 1349 is unarguably metal... though maybe not everyones cup of tea

Count me in for High on Fire.
There's maybe two or three decent to good records between the rest of your tower, with Kylesa's To Walk a Middle Course being the good.
Never really cared for Neurosis. Metal guys who really want to be Radiohead should just be left for Baroness.
Skeletonwitch is harmless and maybe better for it...

as i said, its all really a matter of taste, but neurosis wrote the book for bands like baroness, kylesa etc. so i dunno man...VOEGTLIN wrote:Count me in for High on Fire.

i'd say both Withered's albums are good borderlining excellent. every kylesa album is good to great. every baroness album is good to great. skeletonwitch's beyond the permafrost was great, breathing the fire was a step down but still good. all of zoroaster's stuff is great... chalk it up to different strokes for different folks i suppose

you should def check Withered out as they are Atlanta's top metal export currently.VOEGTLIN wrote:Never heard Withered. But the new Kylesa sounds like a parody of themselves.
