HA! That was me on Huntsville: Day Four. But I am completely amazed to report that my father-in-law bought me that Peter Beste book for Xmas. This was me --->DeathfareDevil wrote:http://www.time.com/time/video/player/0 ... 40,00.html
That about sums things up.

Speaking of my father-in-law, never watch Mythbusters with an aeronautical engineer. "That will never work because they haven't done the friction analysis on it." "That angle isn't steep enough. And they need to oil that cable." "Steel? That won't work. And the terminal velocity of a human is blah blah something something. They're gonna break that see-saw."
V-GER, sorry about your year, baby. Good riddance, 2009.

How did your f-i-l even know about that book? Have you terrorized him in the past with black metal?Diana wrote:But I am completely amazed to report that my father-in-law bought me that Peter Beste book for Xmas. This was me --->![]()

And yes, those Mythbusters critics, especially those with advanced degrees, are an unruly bunch. I like the show; I avoid the message board.
I didn't know about that exhibition. Maybe I need to leave the house more often.Metalfreak wrote:Just over 3 years ago they had an exhibit of his stuff at some random gallery in cabbagetown.
He's 74 years old and just learned how to use the Amazon Wish List. Praise Be To Amazon. But considering how much shit I've got on that list, I'm shocked that the two things he picked were the Beste book and Malfeitor "Incubus."DeathfareDevil wrote:How did your f-i-l even know about that book? Listening to him heckle the Mythbusters was so much fun I think we might make it an annual event. But not if it cuts time out of his "I told them that O-ring wouldn't work" lecture. That's a crowd pleaser.DeathfareDevil wrote:And yes, those Mythbusters critics, especially those with advanced degrees, are an unruly bunch. I like the show; I avoid the message board.
