Okay...spotted at the show earlier tonight:
10. The Inappropriate Spazz
This is the guy, or chick, who barges up as close to the front as possible and then goes apeshit for no apparent reason. Despite the fact that the band that's playing is the first opener, this guy is jumping around like a daggit on a sunspot, throwing hands into the air as if it's the Second Coming, and otherwise totally acting out of proportion to the music. Sure, a reasonable amount of head-banging and fist-pumping and whatnot is fine......but it really looks like this freak is off in his own little world, where some mighty band is performing onstage -- and he's the only one there who sees 'em.
Anyone see that guy at last night's show, to the right side? He was kinda funny to watch....until he started getting overly physical during Devy's set. The two kids in front of me had already suggested that I ram an elbow into this guy's face ("Dude, we'll totally cover for you, he's being a real asshole") and then he disappeared. Maybe it was the Rapture.
There was much rejoicing.

Man... sometimes its just time to rage and there is no stopping that from happening. If i drink liquor, especially whiskey or tequila, i will mosh your ass. Guaranteed.

Oh, sure. I'll go crazy for a band I like, everyone will. But this dickpump was going apeshit during Scale the Summit.Spewtilator wrote:Man... sometimes its just time to rage and there is no stopping that from happening. I like the band, I think they're really talented, but...
Well, if you'd been there, you'd have understood this guy was fucking crazy. We knew it when he shoved people aside AGAIN to try to get to the front during DTP, and then created a small deadly space near him again.

maybe that should be another one:GameFreac wrote:I found one from last night.
I don't mind crowd surfing but I hate when the same guy/girl crowd surfs like 30 times in an hour-long set. It gets even more annoying if they're fat and you're weak.
number 11: fat crowdsurfers
it should not be done! I've seen it before and it's not pretty. What's worse are fat stage divers

Ok time to go to Behemoth now

They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

@gamefreac- hehehe I guess I was that asshole who crowdsurfed 30 times in an hour set
well it was more like 4 or 5 times but you know! Sorry, can't help it when a great band is playing haha
and I did crowdsurf while holding a beer in one hand...and it didn't spill!

I quit stagediving and crowdsurfing around the time I het the 150 lb mark. I just decided at some point that no one should be responsible for keeping my fat ass from hitting the ground. Plus I'd had a few negative experiences crowdsurfing and being kicked/walloped by other people doing it.Metalfreak wrote:maybe that should be another one:GameFreac wrote:I found one from last night.

Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!
personally i feel the only crowd surfing that should go down is that which directly follows a stage dive. the people that climb up in the back or whatever and then surf to the stage kicking/smashing everyone not looking behind them on the way annoy me to no end and i have def lost my temper a few times and thrown punches when its the same motherfucker over and over again (im an asshole i guess).
being someone who wears glasses i cant count the number of times shit heads like this have knocked my glasses off when i dont see them coming because i'm watching the fucking band and then had to scrounge around on the floor only to come up with them after they've been smashed all to fuck.
dont be a pussy. dive off the stage or stay on the fucking ground.

ohhh makes more sense now since glasses are expensive! Someone's glasses got broken last night...he was standing near the pit though so I guess he realized it could happen and it did.Spewtilator wrote:personally i feel the only crowd surfing that should go down is that which directly follows a stage dive. the people that climb up in the back or whatever and then surf to the stage kicking/smashing everyone not looking behind them on the way annoy me to no end and i have def lost my temper a few times and thrown punches when its the same motherfucker over and over again (im an asshole i guess).

funny you mention getting kicked by crowdsurfers, I've had it happen too and I've had people flat out fall on my neck bending it in ways it shouldn't bend but if I'm in a dense crowd where everyone's going nuts, then I have to expect it at some point. and I also try not to kick people either because like I said, I've been kicked and it sucks. I just try to hold my feet way up so it doesn't happen. The only time I do wind up kicking people is if I get tossed pretty high and at that point I have no control whatsoever.
also I don't climb on people, I get near some bigger dudes and tap them and say "UP!" and then they lift me up! I've done that plenty of times and only once did I get a negative reaction (out of all the years I've been crowdsurfing, this happened at a show this past November)...other than that they're always more than willing to lift me up

I've stage dived before too...at the Masquerade. and yes, crowdsurfing immediately followed that! so no, I'm not a pussy. but I do have one

THIS!!! I really don't mind when people crowdsurf if they stagedive. At least then you see them coming. I've gotten countless boots to the head due to jackasses who climb on somebodys shoulders from behind and crowdsurf towards the stage.Spewtilator wrote:personally i feel the only crowd surfing that should go down is that which directly follows a stage dive. the people that climb up in the back or whatever and then surf to the stage kicking/smashing everyone not looking behind them on the way annoy me to no end and i have def lost my temper a few times and thrown punches when its the same motherfucker over and over again (im an asshole i guess).

I mean I've never personally crowd surfed but I don't care if people do it and I look behind me to help people and definitely like it...it brings more energy to the show. But when it's my favorite part of the song and I'm just closing my eyes feeling the music and the same dude that just crowd surfed 20 seconds ago lands on my head, I start to get pissed.Spewtilator wrote:personally i feel the only crowd surfing that should go down is that which directly follows a stage dive. the people that climb up in the back or whatever and then surf to the stage kicking/smashing everyone not looking behind them on the way annoy me to no end and i have def lost my temper a few times and thrown punches when its the same motherfucker over and over again (im an asshole i guess).

99% of the time I don't care, it's just when the same fat person does it over and over and over.
And Metalfreak, it wasn't you. It was some other kid...it was a guy.

Totally agreed on all points. Not to mention that dive off the stage must be done with style. If people don't know what that means, go watch some old Bad Brains, Circle Jerks or GBH videos.Spewtilator wrote:personally i feel the only crowd surfing that should go down is that which directly follows a stage dive. the people that climb up in the back or whatever and then surf to the stage kicking/smashing everyone not looking behind them on the way annoy me to no end and i have def lost my temper a few times and thrown punches when its the same motherfucker over and over again (im an asshole i guess).
