OK, consensus wins. I'll look into it after I shore up a few 1,000 beers for New Year's.

Seriously, though, you really should check them out. I have seen them several times live (as many here have, I imagine), but only own their latest, Folie Circulaire. It is pretty impressive.
you should really check out memento mori, it is also killer.
SPEWTILATOR - Badass motherfuckin' street cops with nothing to lose who don't play by the rules and are out for blood.

They have the best live sound imaginable. Listening to them on album doesn't do them justice.

I have to say that Mogwai has the best live sound. But I digress.

Indeed. But we'll discuss that over a beer, sometime. Afterall, this isn't the Atlantapostrock forum.

Yeah withered posts here sometimes...at least I think only Mike (the singer) does. Haven't seen him on here lately though. Yeah definitely check them out. They're really heavy live \m/

I may have seen them open for Watain once or twice? I dunno. Maybe I should take a break from the booze.

Also: Knuck - "post rock" is in the same zip code as "scion."

I didn't spend much time out at the main stage last year and don't really even know a lot of the bands that played out there. I ended up spending most of my time in Hell. I can see what you are saying, though -- WITTR has a postrock vibe to them. Salome obviously has some love for old Melvins and, maybe, Unsane. Given who is organizing the event, I suppose that is inevitable.

Scion was still one of the best festivals that I have been to -- free and 20 minutes from my house!

I concur!

It's great when I don't have to spend an arm and a leg for something like this :P I met up with a bunch of promoters and record label people for dinner the night before (ya know, since I was DJing for GSU still) and they all had traveled from New York, Pennsylvania and god knows where else. They asked where I traveled from and I said right up the road haha

Anyways, I hope they start announcing bands soon or something though...

Can't say it was for me, but Scion can't exactly compete with Wacken and similar festivals.

Anyway, still waiting for bands... gah.
