Albums I've recently downloaded but have almost entirely avoided because I'm incapable of listening to anything other than Goreaphobia's Mortal Repulsion:

Grand Belial's Key - Kosherat
Klabautamann - Merkur
Urgehal - Ikonoklast
Afflicted - Prodigal Son
Enochian Crescent - Black Churck

Seriously, Mortal Repulsion is fucking incredible. Like, on par with Obscura as being the best death metal album of all time incredible.

Wow, I haven't listened to them since like '89-'90. I remember liking them. I'll have to dig up some of their stuff.

Been listening a bit deeper to Tyr's By the Light of the Northern Star since the show.

Cirith Ungol
a.k.a., The Band That Still Owes Me A Sticker Or Something.

Years ago, on a lark, I called the long-distance phone number that was printed on their album jackets (vinyl) and to my surprise, their drummer Robert Garvin instantly answered. I talked to him for a bit and he promised to send me a band sticker.
He never did.

Looove their album cover art, though!

Welcome to my living room!

I have an Artists Proof of that first one (Stormbringer) that kinda rules over the entire room. Nothing says "Welcome, trick-or-treaters!" like a big ol' green painting of Elric of Melniboné in full battle-rage.

Some of that artwork might be available from the artist, at Glass Onion Graphics. The art for The Vanishing Tower was only ever released as a Cirith Ungol poster.

A fine, fine album. I am currently ripping all of my CD's, in preparation for a trip next week, and realized that my copy has gone missing. I'm sorta pissed about that. "Stanley Kubrick" is one of my favorite songs by them.

I love post-rock and everyone says they're one of the best and their influences include Mogwai and I've heard that album like 4 times and still couldn't get into it. But the last time I heard it, I finally liked it a lot. Guess it was a grower.

I need more stuff from them.

Hell yeah! That's why I bought the tape... because of the cover. I had read the Elric series like the year before. That's also why I started listening to BOC.
