Hmmm what ever happened to Swayes? It wasn't the best place (and a bit of a drive for me) but it was still cool and locals used to play there alot. Now with Death Gasm gone it kinda died I guess. A few years back there was a surge of black, death and grind bands that all played there...that's what I really like so of course I drove up there...for a period of time in my freshman year of college, I was going up there like once a week! Now it's all sludge (which I'm not a fan of for the most part) and thrash (which is cool btw). I'm just being nostalgic I guess haha I did have some good times there

I still haven't been to 585 yet either...been too lazy to drive over there for the most part haha! Maybe if you get Cystic Dysentery or Immersed in Blood back to play there I'll definitely be there for sure! Out of curiosity, what bands are asking to get booked there?

Completely unrelated to bands: one concern of mine is pot smoke. I don't care if you smoke btw (hell, earlier today I was tellin my mom to smoke a doob for her migrain lol) but since I'm joining the military, I don't want to fail a drug test because of second hand pot smoke. It's a valid concern especially if there's alot of smoking going on and until I'm drug tested, you won't see me there! After the drug test I'll come out though.

swayzes is a teeny club now. mostly scene bands and eletronica. not many people book there because of the owner, security, being kicked out for no reason, no reentry policy which turned of many. But its mostly the owner, hes pompous selfish bastard. when i booked there the cut from the door for the touring bands was embarrassing.

585 is the venue because its by the kids for the kids.

We dont try to get any specific metal bands to play. Ryan or Mark might but we dont. If you want a band to play email/call/myspace them and book them and we'll be happy to have then play.

I don't miss Swayze's in the least. Saw some amazing shows there, but it got way lame as of late when people started getting booted out for even just smoking on the sidewalk...and I'm talking about cigarettes.

Bands like Razormaze, Battlemaster, Exmortus, Witchaven etc. Its more like they have heard the place is rad and ask me about it so i book them there. Honestly i dont book bands anywhere else anymore... theres no point if i actually want the touring bands to make money.

As far as the smoke is concerned its not like a giant cloud in the place or anything, its a big warehouse, so if you do smell it its easy to get away from and in the grand scheme of things its really maybe an instance or 2 at some shows and generally off to the side. Dont let it keep you from coming out, you'll be fine... unless Cannabis Corpse comes through again and then you may want to avoid downtown altogether haha

That fucking dance video sucks. I don't care about getting the name out there or any stupid shit like that. I care about integrity, and dancing is'nt very cool to me.
