I think all of those guys were -- Darkthrone, to some extent Burzum, Enslaved, etc. But I think it was "influence" in the sense that they saw what Mayhem were doing and were inspired to do their own thing. As opposed to copying their sound.

I would agree Knuck! It was more of the same attitude. Darkthrone strated as technical death metal and Burzum was straight black metal. I need to start a Darkthrone thread somewhere.
