A place to complain about work and / or your boss.
I figure since it's not very smart to bitch and complain at work all day, unless you want to get fired. What better then to bitch on the internet during lunch to your fellow metal heads?

haha yeah work can suck at times. My job isn't that bad or anything, it's the pay that sucks. I'm a cashier at Micheal's...yeah not my dream job but I think since it's an arts and crafts store, the environment is more friendly and the costumers usually are very nice and aren't dickheads so that always helps.
When I was still seasonal, the store manager was kind of an asshole to me sometimes...I don't know if he was doing that to get me to 'perform' better or what but it sucked.
I think the best jobs I've ever had were working at WRAS (not a real payed job but still, it was awesome!), Netherworld (which is only during halloween season), the internship I had at Ohio State (I learned so much and got payed alot), and construction (I learned alot of practical stuff).
The worst jobs I ever had are: Dick's Sporting Goods (was a cashier, the customers were the biggest assholes I have ever dealt with), janitor (most of the time it wasn't bad but about once a week, there would be something absolutely fucking disgusting in the bathroom!), Dunkin Donuts (my boss was fucking crazy...she even yelled at us in front of the customers even though we were doing everything right...she just got in the way screaming. Even the customers were like wtf? Some even left without getting anything because of my boss. It was funny how when she wasn't there everything always and I mean ALWAYS ran smoothly. The crazy lady and her husband owned the DD and I flat out told her husband that she was a terrible supervisor...after that, she calmed down some.)
All I know is I can't fucking wait till I start with the Air Force. I'm sure I'll really enjoy it! It can't start soon enough...I'm sick of all these part time jobs that pay didly-squat. The only reason why I haven't looked into getting something more permanent is because I know I'll be leaving...I don't want to get locked into a 2 year contract for example and then tell them, oh by the way, I'm going active duty, ya know?
There have been a few job opportunities my way (that would actually use my degree) but for some reason they all have contracts so I just said fuck it!

I work as a cashier at Fred's (dollar store?) so I always got crazy stories about customers. I'll keep this updated if anything weird/funny happens.
Customers are annoying as shit but I usually just go into the "I don't give a fuck about anyone" mode when I step in the door. It helps me not care if they scream at me or piss me off. I usually just call the manager as soon as they start getting mad and let them deal with it. Customers used to really get to me but now I just don't care anymore.
But I'll start off with this:
I wasn't there but about a month ago, a lady came in and asked if we had the Shark vacuum cleaner so she could clean the ghosts out of her house. Luckily the nice girl I work with was working so she was nice and didn't laugh hysterically at her. She also asked if we had a certain brand of cigarettes because a cowboy from 1886 lived in her house and that's the only brand he smoked. She was dead serious.

@Game freac - hahahaha wow people never cease to amaze me! Yeah not too long ago I had a woman come through my register and she bought a bouncy ball with glitter in it. (We have them placed at all the registers for impulse buyers). I grabbed the ball to put it in the bag with the rest of her stuff and she kind of freaked out and was like, you ruined the aura of this ball and all this other nonsense and she was dead serious as well! I just played along and was all like umm ok.... She did some "ritual" to fix the ball's aura...yeah, I really had to restrain myself so I didn't laugh! There are some fuckin weirdos out there!
I guess that's not as bad as my boyfriend's story (he's a cop...well, not right now cause his broke leg is still healing) about some woman who called them out to her house because her landlord forgot to clean out her crawlspace...of which she claimed hell was! She was clinically insane, no doubt about that!

Hahahaha. Yeah I never ever smile or laugh when I think someone might be joking unless I'm 100% sure they are because sometimes I think they're joking around and they're dead serious and I'm laughing at them. People don't amaze me anymore...you're right about the weirdos.

Holy shit!!! This is amazing. Shark vacuum cleaner? 1886 cowboy smokes? Fuck yes! I want to smoke 1886 cowboy cigs...GameFreac wrote:I wasn't there but about a month ago, a lady came in and asked if we had the Shark vacuum cleaner so she could clean the ghosts out of her house. I had no idea Shark vacuum cleaners also doubled as traps for busting ghosts.
I'll never look directly at one of them again.
As for work stories.....I've had worse managers at my employer than the one I have now...but I've never had one who was so hard to work FOR. She never seems to be happy with anything anyone does, sometimes she'll contradict her previous instructions.... She's competent -- to a point -- but hard to work for.
Nothing further than that because Google is everywhere.

If you work at an airport, then you are familiar with how they sound. Sweet Christ that shit is loud. I got one free with my real vacuum and I gave it to Goodwill with the note "Works perfectly, loud as a jet engine." It's their problem now.WREKage-Paul wrote:I had no idea Shark vacuum cleaners also doubled as traps for busting ghosts.

Got one of those myself. He's also saved every single email since email was invented just so he can throw it back at you when you ask a question. He literally re-sent an email from 2002 to the night-shift guy as an answer to his question as if he's some kind of moron because he can't remember how to handle an issue that last occurred eight fucking years ago.WREKage-Paul wrote:As for work stories.....I've had worse managers at my employer than the one I have now...but I've never had one who was so hard to work FOR.
